I use my truck bed as a truck bed. I pretty regularly haul full loads of mulch and lumber. 200 pounds on the tailgate and it squats probably halfway through the rear suspension. Hauling loads is only a small percentage of the miles that I put on this truck. For the most part it is unloaded. I need some decent small bump compliance and then I would like some really progressive springs to handle heavy loads. If I had to put a number on the big loads I would guess 1500 pounds. This puts me at the max GVWR. I have not been to my dealership for the spring recall yet.

I am not looking for a lift, but I am ok with 1.5". On a side note my front suspension also needs some attention. The factory shocks are starting to fail. What do you guys recommend for my intended use? I am guessing 5100s in the front. Will the springs need any attention at 120k?

Once I put a bed cap and plywood sleeping platform on my reg cab I was squatting pretty low too. Picked up a 3 leaf AAL from headstrong off-road, left the overload leaf in and she’s sitting maybe .5” higher than stock. Handles so much better now too.

In the future I plan on putting 5100’s all around and OME 884 springs in the front, as my stock suspension has about 120k too and feels a little mushy at times. But for now the AAL was a cheap stop gap.
