Toyota needs to stick a diesel in it... Most likely not going to happen any time soon.. :[

i actually made a cash offer of $23k for that truck about 3 weeks ago and they turned it down claiming they had more into it than that. I really couldnt justify paying 27.5 for that truck. I found my 2010 reg cab sr5 for 17.5 with only 32,900 on the clock and i dont regret it. i really wish it had buckets and the newer front end but those are things i could change down the road

What i said was more for a comparison than anything else. Seems that the regular cab is going the same way as the manual transmission. The only 3 new trucks i can find in a single cab are from Ford,Chevy and Dodge. The tundra comes up on Toyota's website but it's won't let me build one in a regular cab.

I think they shipped all of the regular cabs to Guam. I shot this vid a while back and since then, there are two more additional reg.cabs in my street. They are everywhere here.

Ordered mine back at the end of 2013 and picked it up on Feb 2014. Since then I've been called by the dealership 3 times wanting to buy it back. My buddy that works there told me that someone came in really wanting to buy a reg cab 4x4 AT. Could have gotten a 2015 AC 4x4 TRD in a trade but love my little truck too much.

I do miss my 2004 - last yr. 1st Gen regular cab Tacoma with the 2.4L motor. I know this is a 2nd Gen forum. Just throwing this out there. If you have a regular cab and don't have a family - keep it.

October 2012 I paid 17 for my 2010 single cab 2WD with the 4 banger. Bare bones but it is all I need, and had 6600 miles. Right now almost 48K and still love it. I had the dealer recently send me a line offering 13K for it which I wouldn't do even though I only owe 6K right now.

Saw one last month at the dealership where I purchased my '15. It was a '15 RC, very long bed.

I wonder why Toyota stopped putting the V6 in the regular cab.

This brings me hope. I've had mine for a year and am now going to have to sell/trade-in with a baby on the way. I am not upside down but I will be lucky to break even for a trade in. Tiny dent from I have no idea, the thing has never left the blacktop. Paid $22,300 for it, have about $19k left to pay. 4cyl 5spd 4wd w/ 13,XXX miles on it. In the market for a DCSB so hopefully I can offload this and have a little equity for a trade.

    Too few to list.
On a dealer trade in, I doubt they'll give you what you owe on it. KBB is about $18K trade in. I wouldn't be surprise if the dealer offers in the ballpark of $15-16K. I suggest you take it to Carmax and just get an appraisal if there is one near by.

True but I have sliders and a soft cap and large tires! Jk, that is complete sarcasm. I know dealerships could give two shits what you have done. All of it will come off before it goes to be traded. I have no faith in Carmax. I've had them give me an appraisal on a car I use to own. Sold it for $5k more than they appraised it for. And everything they have on their lots is grossly overpriced as well as their no haggle prices is a joke. I figured even if I break even I will be happy. I don't expect to have a bunch of equity in a 1 year old vehicle, I know better. But life threw a wrench in their so hopefully I at least break even.

I just got my 2015 two days ago. I was really looking at Access cabs but then got into thinking about needing space just in case. Got the DC. I suggest you take your truck to a few dealerships just for an appraisal so you have a better idea of what they are giving. I've taken a few cars to Carmax. Their appraisals seems to be in line with KBB trade in. Dealers always offer lower and work that value up depending on what you're buying. Just a numbers game.

Yup. I'll probably try to sell outright first. I'm in no hurry so it won't be a big deal. Went to the local toyota dealership today. They offered me $18k but I'll wait. Still want to see what the 2016 is really about and not all this hearsay.

Don't overlook sales tax. Most states, you only pay on the differance.

At my job we have a Tacoma RC 4x4 along with a few Rangers and base RC Tacoma. I like the RC but went with the Access cab because it has just the right amount of space in the back for me with an RC I'd need a bed tool box which I don't like. Didn't get the DC cause I don't need that much interior or passenger space that and I simply find the RC and the AC more aesthetically pleasing than the DC. Funny as I like how the Gen 1 DC looks but not the Gen 2 DC.

the AC is the best looking 2nd gen Tacoma, proportionately. IMO.

I agree something about the rear doors on the DC just throws the look off to me. Also if you own a RC or AC your the minority Taco. Kinda says this dude really bought a truck to be a truck. I kid though some people like the DC and that's the beauty of a free market you can get what you want. In East Germany it was Trabant or .... Trabant and if you where "favored" you got to choose the color.

I prefer the regular cab. Def best offroad, but it'll never work out with another kid on the way. Already me, wife and Daughter crammed in it to go places. And it's a stick shift, sucks on long trips!
