I purchased some 33" E rated Geolandar AT GO15s about 2 months ago. Wanted to replace the stock SL rated GY Wranglers in preparation for a trip from SoCal to Colorado. Mrs. 79CHKCHK didn't notice much of a difference in the ride, asked what was different about them. After telling her the differences, she said she liked the OWL as it matched our white Tacoma. If she can't really tell the difference, not sure why so many condemn E rated tires on the forum.

exactly- i just ran over a pile of extruded aluminum C-channel scrap on the interstate 75+. in heavy traffic and never saw it coming. bounced over the crap with no issues while changing lanes and didn’t let off the throttle. crap was flying out behind me.

also had nails come and go as the tread wears. road on a nail for 10k miles before it disappeared with no air loss.

before i got on board with 10ply (E) tires, i spent a lot of time plugging nail, screw holes and changing tires on the side on road. never again…

Thanks for everyone’s input. Like I said, I’m currently running E rated on the Hancooks but didn’t expect the shop guy to tell me the E rated ATX didn’t balance well. So that’s why I was asking for input on them. I’ve had similar experiences running over crap on the freeway and having nails in my tires without air leaks. Just wanted to get real world input before I pulled the trigger on a new set of tires. I’ll more than likely go with the E rated again for the added security.
