Regular vs Premium gas debate

    Heavy stuff big tires drives like hell
    I run 85. Found no difference between 85 and premium. The placebo effect told me it was more powerful when I tried premium... then I went back to 85 and it was the same, beware the power of your own mind.

    it's 85 in some of the higher elevation states like here in colorado

    I believe in the Toyota Manual that the 1grf gets slightly more hp and tq with 91 octane. I did a mpg testing with my '09 with 87 and 91 with a 900 mile continuous driving the advantage of 91 octane was minimal. An average of 10 more miles per tank using 91. Not worth the 30 cents more per gallon imo.

    our regular grade is 85 which is the same thing as your 87 regular grade. i don't know why its different. our 87 is the mid grade and 91 is premium...

    I run 85 in my boat, and get about 4 mpg.....sometimes 2 :(

    I use premium It seems like the truck runs a little better and has an easier time spinning these 35" tires :D

    So regular gas can be used on TRD 3.4 ? Will it damage the engine or the TRD ?

    your fine with regular on a 3.4
    and gas will have no effect on the performance of anything that's entailed in the TRD package for a 1st Gen

    Out here its 87 for minimum, 89 for mid grade and 93 for premium.
