Pretty much this. But if you get a little water in and you feel lazy, you at least know it won't mold like carpet would.

Finally got around to popping the dent in my passenger door that I received on Cliffhanger. Not perfect but much better.

Made out pretty well with insurance for now. Hopefully my rates don't go up too much.

Looking to get a fridge if I'm going to be living out of it full time. Debating if I want to put it in the cab or bed. Anyone hear of any bear encounters with one in the bed?

During the transition from Cali and Co. I lived in my truck for 3 months. My wife was here and I was still in Cali. I slept at a 24hr fitness and kept a gym pass for bathroom and shower usage. It really wasn’t bad. I blacked out my windows at night with black fabric.

Did you sleep in the cab? I've crashed for a few hours in Walmart parking lots and never could get comfortable to get much sleep.

Really not an issue up here though since I'm surrounded by national forests and can through up the Nest.

Yup in the drivers seat. With a DC I was able to lean the seat back pretty far. I would put a pillow where my lower back is and one under my neck. That made it really comfortable.

I'll have to keep that in mind for next time. My last Walmart experience was one that had a parking garage. They closed at midnight but there were still people rolling there shopping carts around all night. Was slightly paranoid too. Had no idea what "section" of town I may have been in.

Yes. After I ripped the starter apart it fired right up. Currently have the interior gutted, hopefully I get that all back in today. I'll take it for a short drive and check all the fluids for water. I'm hoping that's all I have to do from this flood incident.

Final step in the shock relocate should be done today too. Just need to burn in some new strike plates.

Giving up on the cb. The best I can get is 2.5 swr then once the cap goes back on its over 3. Putting my hand close to the antenna drops it until it's about an inch away then back up. While I was tuning I was hearing someone coming over the radio saying something about black flag, Louisiana, Watergate. Not sure what that was about, Googled it and found a video of it but no description or anything. HAM coming soon...

Welded on the new bump strike plates. I'll compose a post just on all my shock reaction stuff soon.

Truck is mostly back together. Oils didn't show any sign of milkyness. I should probably change them soon though. It's been awhile.

Drove down to Arvada to get two new tires on that were covered due to sidewall damage. Everything seems fine hopefully nothing creeps up from water damage like wheel bearings..

Feel free to drop some photos and an explanation in my shock reloacte thread. Also on the topic of weird CB stuff, I went wheeling in Northern Idaho once and heard a broadcast about catching and maming runaway slaves. I suppose that's appropriate for Northern Idaho given one of the most hateful families lives in Sandpoint, but it caught me off guard.

    Shock Relocate Info.

So since there are a handful of other threads about this I'm more or less going to summarize my setup and what I learned in the process.

Have on hand all the parts you will need. Yes, even the shocks you plan on using despite what your vendor recommends. This will help with making sure there are no clearance issues.

If you're staying inboard and making the shocks parallel, a 10" shock is perfect.

Brake lines will likely need to be massaged, bent and cursed at so they don't interfere with the shock travel.

    I'm on 1,000lb 3" lift Alcans.

With a 1" body lift the 1.75" diameter crossmember fits directly above the axle and provides additional support for the bed. This also allows you to mount the shocks parallel to each other without having your lower mounts hang down too far.

    20180523_164836 by Ryan Heintzelman - Flickr2BBcode

I went with 10"x2.5" Kings with remote resi and the shorter top cap instead of the welded rod end. This reduces the shock by 1.1", a tenth of an inch more than the welded rod. This also helped center the ride height to the middle of the shock travel. Possibly the negative to this is it will allow more negative arch in the springs before the shock bottoms out, this could be remedied by the bump stop. I didn't break my leaf pack down to find out how far negative they go because it would have voided the warranty on the brand new Alcans.

My droop measurement from eye to eye is 26.5". The overall length of the shock is 27.275. So I've got .75" left for sudden unloads that may cause the axle to droop a bit more than just a static hang. .75" is likely overkill but I won't have to worry about limit straps and the lower mount isn't too low to snag rocks.

    20180610_112511 by Ryan Heintzelman - Flickr2BBcode

With both the 1" bl, top cap and welded rod end the lower mount could be made so that it doesn't hang below the axle at all.

Don't forget to account for the flip plate sticking out.

    20180418_194024 by Ryan Heintzelman - Flickr2BBcode

I realized this may become an issue after I bolted the old shocks in. I ordered the 1.25" spacers so that I could use washers to push the shock away from the plate. It wasn't enough.

    20180523_162546 by Ryan Heintzelman - Flickr2BBcode

So I just cut the corner off the plates. This may have been avoided if I had the shocks on hand when positioning the lower mounts or had the flip plate kit that was out of stock installed instead of using a c clamp to hold the axle to the springs.

I ordered Wheeler's Super Bumps only to find that they don't match up with the factory strike plate and they were too short. So I cut out the middle tube and cut a longer one to make the correct height I needed with the 2" box I welded to the frame for the new strike pad.

This was more of a project for me than I had originally anticipated. Yes, it's just moving mounts from A to B but there is a lot of small things that need to be considered. I was guilty of only looking at the big picture before diving in. With that being said I'm extremely pleased with how it came out. I'm not sure if it was luck or maybe I did know what I was doing and I'm reluctant to give myself credit. In the end I'm using most of the travel and sitting around the median of travel depending on load.

So when you let one side droop more than another the bottom doesn't scrub th edge of its mounts and the top single shear doesn't rub the washer? Looks super close but that's really cool if it doesn't

No sign of rubbing yet but I don't think I've flex her to far. There is a good bank I'm going to flex on before leaving work today to make sure.

You did point out that the upper is single shear. I was worried about that but hoped TG knew what they were doing when they made the kit. Time will tell.

Anyone know what the "OR" or "PR" means? Replaced the passenger side lbj and noticed the difference between the two. Also found my Moog ITR is bad. I think it made it over a year. I really need to get back to keeping records of maintenance.

Gained 100 EAF points today. Not sure if the dog will get used to having half of the back seat or not. Excited to not have to worry about ice anymore!

I think if you build a platform on the right just so the pup can keep it's head over the fridge it will be fine. Mine is so tall that a platform would kill so much usable space so she just chills in her little hole.
