I used the ball joint kit from Auto Zone and it popped right out with that and an impact. I had the machine shop press the new ones back in though since they were working on my front bearings anyway. Hopefully next time I will be doing the same as you and going away from the OEM setup next time I touch it.

I didn't have a way to get the impact on it when still on the truck. That probably wouldn have helped. I think there is another spc gb going on meow

@SjTacoSharks great idea, but maybe a box for spare parts or something would be cool

Just keep in mind you may not be able to access the parts you need when things break. Usually you can move by winch or someone pulling you though so it may not be the worst place.

Ya I was thinking about it. If ur stuck in something that u can't reach the spare I doubt you will do a repair at the same spot hah. Cool idea for storage though nice work!

New wheels don't fit because of the damn tundra brakes. It think an 1/8 spacer would be enough... So close!

Spc arms and 882 springs are installed. I used a spring compressor at work for the passenger side, so nice. Haha used a floor jack and ratchet strap for the driver side and some choice words.

New hub is cleaned painted and greased. For some reason I can't get my cv in the hub far enough to install the spacer and snap ring so I've got to undo the lbj that I just torqued and loctited. And still need to replace the ITRs. I hate doing things twice :goingcrazy: Hopefully that is all completed tomorrow and it will be sitting back on its own legs.

Just crunched some numbers and my truck is more cost effective to drive than the Subaru by .6 of a mile per dolla. I think I'm doing the daily thing wrong.

Sell it asap, especially after that oil test. Ticking time bomb with them there subies.

If it blows its getting the 2.5 put in so I'll have more bottom end or maybe the metal in the oil is the reason for this. It's a fun car and it's grown on me some but it's only fun when you can drive it hard. I've been babying it ever since that sample. As soon as the truck is back together I'm changing the oil and getting another sample. I'm kind of hoping the previous owner lied about just changing the oil and it really had 20k miles on it and not 8k like I had thought.

So I just followed a small rabbit trail of your posts and found a used SC on Marlin Crawler. If it's still for sale I owe you the finest of beers!

I'm running the low boost kit. It's ok. It drives like the same 4cyl until you really get on it and the bypass valve closes and you start boosting. It does make a difference, but idk if I'd pay full price for it again. I also think I'd like it better with a 5 speed.

And we do not talk about that used blower lol. Could have saved me $1000 with that. But get that thing!

    What blower?

Is this bypass valve you speak of needed? I want boost ASAP though this was the benefit of a blower over turbo.

The used one on Marlin Crawler. I found out about that AFTER I bought mine brand new.

And they all come with a bypass valve. The purpose of it is when you're not in boost, it sends the air around the rotors. Saves gas and lessens the parasitic draw, also reduces the intake air temp by not constantly sending air through the rotors. Once you get on it, and the engine starts making boost and looses vacuum, it closes immediately.

Haha I know I was joking about what blower.

So it doesn't sound like it would do much offroad. There isn't a whole lot of load on the motor. I wonder if there is one that can be closed with a switch if it doesn't create too much heat for offroad.

I'm about to light a match and watch this turd burn!:annoyed:

After getting everything buttoned up from the 882, spc and itr stuff there was a post about a Jeep needed recovery on Yankee Hill so I figured went the hell not. And then this bs happened.

Either a wheel bearing or needle bearing is going out in the front hub that exploded. I hope it's just that needed bearing. Slight chance it's because I lifted it a bit more but it definitely feels like a bearing to me.

ADD is stuck on now too. I can't ever get caught up!!! :annoyed:

Recovery went quite smooth by the way.
