Very impressive that you're building all this stuff yourself. I seriously need to learn how to weld. She's beautiful, great work sir!

Thanks! I find welding the easy part. Cutting everything to fit close enough to weld is the tough part for me. If it fits flush the welding is cake if there is a huge gap it's a pain in the butt. I'm sure it's not as strong either.

See this is what the winch is for lol. Guy had no rear recovery points. First a wrangler with a winch tried pulling him forward but just kept pulling himself. So I hooked up to the other side and we still couldn't pull him, just kept pulling ourselves. Then it was back to the rear. Ripped his bumper off then hooked to his axle. The wrangler winched and I hooked to him to act as an anchor and finally got him out. Fun times...

Just because you have a DD doesn't mean you will stay out of trouble lol. I made use of the snorkel that night. In the second pick you can see on the passenger side of the hood where the water came up to. Thanks gawd I had a winch!

Discovered this hole in my frame in July. Went into Toyota of York the next day and they failed it. 6 month wait for the new frame. They still let me drive it which didn't bother me.

About two months after the frame failed I accepted a job out in Colorado! So I called up the dealer and told them my situation. Could they possibly get it done before I leave in the beginning of October or transfer the work order to a dealer in CO? The frame was there but they were waiting on the parts kit. They ended up ordering everything needed individually and were done with a week to spare!

    New frame and parts.

Overall they did a nice job.

Prepped for to put the sliders back on the day after I got the truck back.

Didn't take anymore picture of the sliders going back on. Unfortunatly they are about a half inch shorter because I had to cut them off the old frame. The kickout is about even with the tire now.

Had the truck loaded with everything I was taking to Colorado and had to move my boat. That was more than the truck could really handle but I was only going a few miles and it was slow but did fine. (forgot to take a pick with the boat actually hooked up but you get the point)

Off to Nashville to visit my cousin. A week before I happened to google Heinzelmannchen after a family reunion. (very close to my last name) and came across a brewery that just so happened to be along the way to Nashville so I had to stop. I had a Black Forest Stout and it was delicious! Unfortunatly they haven't begun to bottle yet... If you are curious what a Heinzelmannchen is here is the tale http://germangirlinamerica.com/german-legends/heinzelmannchen-the-elves-of-cologne/

    Back on the road...
Arrived in Nashville and met up with my cousin. Unfortunately I had caught a cold from my girlfriend so I wasn't in much of a downtown mood and it was a week night and she had to be at work in the morning so we just went to dinner and drove though downtown. Check out Hattie B's if you are ever there. Delicious chicken place!

Left Nashville and headed to Kansas to stay at a family friends place for the night. Not really much to see in the prairie...
Thought this was cool. Wish I had a better camera than my phone though

Made it to Colorado! The whole trip was about 2250 miles.

Did some exploring with my dad before he had to fly back home.

I was exhausted from all the driving so decided to let the pooch drive

Headed up to Rocky Mountain National Park and near the top the fog rolled in.

Saw some wildlife while there. The elk were bugling which was pretty cool to hear.

On the way out we hit a small snow storm along with some pretty strong winds. Pulled over to get a picture of the sunset over the mountains. Again I wish I had a better camera. This was breathtaking the way the storm clouds were breaking and the light behind the mountain.

That't it for now. Loving every bit of this place!
