No worries, the jb water weld seems to be holding fine. I just have a high clearance tank right now.:D

Finally got around to running Black Bear Pass and Imogene Pass. Honestly thought Imogene was the better of the two. Then we headed to Engineer Pass to hop on Poughkeepsie Gulch and about 100yds in, my clutch pedal goes to the floor. So I clutch start cancel to get rolling to a point where we can pull off and take a look. My compressor which was half asses mounted near the master cylinder had wore a tiny pine hole in the line connecting the master to the slave. It was getting close to the time the shops in Ouray would be closing so I quickly cleaned up the line and tried to patch it with quick steel and let it cure while we headed to town to get brake fluid since the bottle I carry seemed to have all leaked out. 45 min later we get back to the truck and being pretty confident that the quick steel would hold we mosied up the trail to find camp for the night and then I'd check to see if the quick steel held. Once we had camp I poured in some fluid and pushed the clutch pedal only to have a little resistance then nothing again. So back to square one. Let's try some JB weld and let it cure overnight.

Morning comes I start the process of bleeding the clutch and all seems well so we decide to continue on with Poughkeepsie Gulch. We'll there was a jeep in front of us that stopped in the middle of a steep loose rocky climb, so I went to push the clutch pedal and had nothing again. So now I'm stuck on this hill not able to start the truck going forward and a herd of Jeeps coming behind us. Fortunately I was able to back down to a less steep spot and the truck finally fired so I could continue climbing the hill. I found a spot to pull off the trail, let the herd go and turn around back to Ouray.

Made a few calls to Montrose and Durango part stores to see if I could get lucky and continue my trip. Unfortunately the earliest I could get a line was Thursday, the last day of the trip, when I needed to be on the way home. So I decided to just rev match and drive home. Really wasn't all that bad other than the red lights in Montrose.

So moral of the story JB weld doesn't fix everything and bolt down your compressor :spy:

Bummed I didn't get to finish Poughkeepsie and continue on to Stony Pass and then Pearl Pass. I'll just have to schedule another trip.

Well, went to jack up the front so had more clearance to access the clutch line and noticed my tire move once it left the ground. Front wheel bearings are toast! I'm guessing this was caused by the flood. I don't think I have more than 60k on them. Time for gussets and bushings in the front end while it's ripped apart.

You think that was caused by water? It's not like you haven't done like hundreds of crossings, regardless of sitting in it or not. Seems odd to be the cause.

I think sitting in in makes a big difference as opposed to driving through it. Last time I did them was the day after having it swamped in muddy water. Somehow avoided flooding the cab that time but I was still over the hood when I dropped in and had to winch out. Maybe it's coincidence that shortly after I've had the truck sitting in water the bearings go out but I doubt it. I should probably jack up the rears and check them too or maybe I'll go with ignorance is bliss on those!

Hope you can get this thing to a place where you can wheel it and not have to fix it every trip. I know how frustrating that is.

Also have new, OEM 01-04 rear wheel bearings on the shelf I ordered before knowing they wouldn't work with the chromoly shafts. Yours if you want them.

I'll let you know. Probably going to be a week or so until the front is back on the ground to check the rears.

Got one LCA out last night. Just need to pull the cam bolts for the other. So far things are going pretty smoothly. I've read the whiteline bushing sleeve isn't splined on the end for the cam. Should I swap those out with the oem sleeve?

Hoping to have it back on its wheels for a road trip to Arkansas on the 3rd.

I've had zero issues holding an alignment with the whitelines and TC gussets.

    I wouldn't bother.

Some random pics from cam tab gussets, lca bushing, lower shock eye bushing. Also did spindle gussets but didn't take any pictures of it. The worst part of all of this was reinstalling the LCA. Getting the washers in was a huge pita. Second worse was the lower shock bushing. That thing is a tight fit! Both getting it out and installing a new one sucked.

With the new to me spindles I now have camber adjustment again on the driver side. I presume my old spindle was bent. My passenger side is still maxed out for camber adjustment but it's still within spec.

Overall this wasn't as difficult of a project as I thought it would be.

Back from a 2000+ mile trip to Arkansas for my roommates wedding without any major hiccups. Pretty sure my power steering pump is whining, hopefully it's just a dirty screen but I doubt it. Also the oversized oil plug is leaking a bit, lost about an 1/8th inch on the dipstick throughout the trip. I have a new pan along with some other goodies :spy: that should be here by the end of the week. :burnrubber:

I forgot that the last two times filling with gas the pump kept shutting off almost immediately. I'm guessing I've got a clog in my evap system somewhere.
