Probably a leaking rear trans seal. I’d split the case a touch and make sure the cavity between the trans and tcase isn’t full of fluid. It’d suck to lunch a trans by pumping all the fluid out the rear seal.

What I was thinking. Going to check trans fluid level tonight and clean it up just to make sure that's where it's coming from.

This. My truck had a defective/damaged seal from the factory. The trans lasted 4300 miles. Took it back to the dealer and they found the trans empty and the piece between the trans and transfercase full of oil.

Yep, definitely leaking from between the two. Open both fill holes and had oil running out so it's not too bad yet. Hoping to get a trip in next weekend then after that tear it apart.

Started replacing leaf spring bushing on the T100 and noticed how much beefier the frame is. Boxed all the way to the rear and the crossmembers are twice as thick. Wish the Taco came that way. Might have to throw the Toytec adjustable shackles in it since the metal on metal looks like it's worn the lower bolt quite a bit. It's gonna have a lot of take if I do that but O well. Might be able to crank the torsion bars in the front up some to even it out. :notsure:

Sucks about your rig! Hopefully you can get everything sorted and get it solid.

So my cvj reman rack died yesterday on the final climb up Taylor Pass. Fluid just pisses out the passenger side boot. Probably burnt up the pump as well.

Front locker ratchets more than locks now.

Lots of big maintenance things this winter which will unfortunately push back the turbo install. Idk if my pockets will allow me to keep fixing this shitbox

Yeah I just spent 850.00 on a rack and pump. Brett found a good deal on a pump. Hopefully that will help a little.

Park it for a couple months and then reevaluate.

I was ready to sell my rig too a year ago, but not having to worry about it until next season gives you time to sort things out and forget your frustrations.

    Oh, and don't buy a Jeep. :D

Sorry to hear about the continuing struggles wth your rig, Ryan. That’s gotta be super frustrating.

Yep, was planning on installing it next month but I think it's best I fix my current problems before I create new ones.

Yeah that's wise, your gonna get yourself into a whole new world of things to learn and tune and tweak with a turbo.

Oh I hear ya bud, I was super excited to finally get the truck running after getting the cage welded and thinking, Sweet! I can start the rear. But my steering started stiffing up. I knew it was due but I really wanted to get the links cut and order the fuel cell with that cash. It takes the wind out of your sail real quick. I just think to myself all in good time, just roll with the punches. Any how good luck on the repairs and hopefully they go smoothly.

Started pulling my steering rack apart today. Once I remove the control valve the bearing guide nut practically fell off the shaft. I'm not sure if this was my problem or if it's the seal in the cylinder. I haven't removed the cylinder yet since the fsm recommends using a press and I'd rather not hammer something and damage it. I've also noticed a severe lack of molybdenum grease on parts the fsm calls for.

    Picture of the loose nut.

Pretty good video on how a rack works. The control valve is a pretty interesting part.
