Drove it to work today and I've got to say there is just something about the Tacoma that is just fun. Filled it up with gas for the first time since replacing the charcoal canister and had no issues with the pump shutting off. One small step in this thing becoming less of a shitbox.

Nope, driving without it. Have some cv stubs keeping tension on the bearing. Probably won't go back in until I have the turbo dialed in. Easier to work without that chunk in there.

Found a crack in the T100 radiator. Decided to be a cheap ass and try and fix it with jb welds radiator repair. Haven't driven it yet but hopefully it holds for awhile.

Drove the Tacoma all the way to Denver today to Sears in hopes of getting my battery replaced. Only to have them tell me 770 out of the 850cca is still good. Mind you that was tested at 55ish degrees not the 0 CCA are measured at. The truck won't even turn over in the morning after sitting outside with temps around 0. Frustrated I made the drive to be told to call the manager tomorrow.

Well jb welds radiator fix didn't work on the T100 Had the truck sit in a 55° garage for 3 days, thought that would have been long enough to cure. It was -20° this morning so its possible the extreme cold to the warmth of the the coolant caused it to fail. Truck absolutely does not want to move when it's that cold. Top speed is around 50mph until things warm up.

I'm pretty sure the whine I'm hearing in the Tacoma is the fuel pump. Sounds identical to the power steering pump whine but it still did it when that was all disconnected. Seems to stop whining when I let off the throttle too. Time for an upgrade.

Got started on the turbo project!

Pulled the old pan off. I found a little bit of sludge but nothing terrible. Hopeful putting the turbo pan on tomorrow after the oil is done dripping everywhere.

So far I've got 2 problems to overcome. The wastegate is all but pinching the AC line between the fender. Need to find another airbox that's compatible with the snorkel.

Debating if I want to run this intercooler or clock the turbo and go straight to the throttle body for now.

Enough to make it a lot of fun!
If you want to build an air box out or sheet metal I can bend it with my break at work.

Anyone know of any vehicle with an airbox where the inlet and outlet are directly across from one another?

Did some Non Destructive Testing on my ring gear. No cracks were found!

Still not sure why my locker wasn't working 100%. Everything is within spec. There is a very small amount of wear on the cam gear and pin so I think I'm going to replace those and hope for the best. I also learned that some 1st gen carriers don't have a needle bearing.

Hobbled into the garage after laying in bed watching KOH all week. Cool watching a leaf spring Toyota pickup win the stock class.

Got the oil feed line installed. It's a tight fit with the block drain being right there. I believe some 3rz's come with just a plug which would have allowed plenty of room but I wanted to keep the drain pipe for ease and less of a mess when I do need to drain it. Also wrapped the AC line in heat reflective tape. I think it's out of the way enough with the fender massaging and bending the hard line. Hopefully going to get the manifold bolted in tomorrow and figure out the rest of the hose plumbing.
