I'm sure @Squeaky Penguin @Night Eagle @Wishbone Runner and others can attest to how loud it already was. I'm kind of hoping the turbo quite it down some. Flowermaster 40 series I think.

Freaking close! Not sure I'm comfortable with this or not. No other options other than a new AC line.

I need to make a manifold brace as the previous one won't work with the 3rz.

The inline intake I ordered isn't going to work so I think I'm sticking with my stock box. Not sure how my motor has survived the submarine incidents. Found two small holes in the bottom of the box and I kinked the hose going into the fender.

Not sure how I never noticed these.

O well, started modify the factory box so it hooks directly to the fender hose. I'm most likely going to need to relocate my washer fluid reservoir again. Took a break for now to let my toes return from being purple :D

Word. I have a super 44 on mine and it sounds good but second gens also have two cats so it mellows it a little. I did run the exhaust back out from under the truck. After I bumped up to 2.5” pipe the drone from the axle dump got to be too much on long highway drives

I had two cats before deleting one for the long tube header. Not sure what year had the extra cat or if it was more for being legal in all 50 states.

Its the 50 series lol I always forget which it is. I do recall yours sounding great years ago for being a 4 banger. Mine gets super raspy and ricey sounding when I'm on it. Idle isn't bad. I had meant to take a video of it before installing the turbo because others seem to like the 50 on there 3rz, not me.

This intake is really starting to puzzle me. I get one problem solved only to run into another. Got the air box hooked directly into the fender hose which then caused it to sit too high for the hood to shut. I may try cutting the fender and lowering the hose. If that works it's still going to be tight getting the box plumbed to the turbo. Still not ruling out an aftermarket setup but finding one short enough to go from the turbo to fender is tough. Add in the MAF pipe and it may become impossible with what is available on the market.

Still have a couple vacuum lines to tidy up, figure out the intake and make a pipe connecting the down pipe to the rest of my exhaust. O! And for my leg to heal so I can drive a stick!

I have no idea what truck you are talking about. I remember hearing a Honda civic driving the trails with a dart can. :D

If you want me to make a box for that air filter I can. I have a nice shear and break at work. I think I have some metal in my garage that will work also.

That might be the route I end up going with. I don't trust this particular filter as the whole kit was <$50 so once I find a good cone filter to build around I can get you some dimensions. I don't really have a solid idea in my head to making one waterproof either. This one just slips into the pipe with 3 screws holding it on. It would need to be rtv'd to be water tight. Just thinking out loud but maybe the cone filter permanently mounted to a deck plate lid and then I'd be able to unscrew it to service/replace it.

Ya we can do what ever. I was thinking rtv and rivet the box together except a lid of some sort, but we can talk once you have a plan.

So does this thing come with general instructions, or just a box of parts and well wishes?

Going with this for now. Cut about an inch out of the fender to lower the tube and cut all the tabs off the factory airbox. It fits! Barely. The hood shuts and things are tight. A nice piece of stainless pipe will look nice later down the road. Or a custom airbox...

Hopefully by next week. Waiting on some mandrel bent tube to connect the exhaust and an upper radiator hose since I butchered the original trying to squeeze it between the turbo inlet and valve cover.

Exhaust is done for now. I'll be surprised if I don't find a leak or two on the vband flange. Had to weld it blind unless I wanted to pull the whole exhaust off.

Just waiting on the radiator hose and 2 unions and it should be ready to drive again! Clutch starts cancels and rev matches and I can drive, right?!

Found my water pump is leaking. That only lasted 2 years. I'll attribute it to the submarine event that took place last summer. So startup is likely going to be pushed back to next weekend. Doesn't make sense to fill it all with fluid just to drain it again.

Trans mount also needs to be replaced and I think I'm going to try and do the Marmount mod to the motor mount. Hopefully that will help keep the wastegate from pinching the ac line.

Started the truck today! Found a pretty good leak coming from the heater core hose to turbo. Just needed a smaller clamp on the hose and fixed it. Unfortunately there's a big ugly dodge in my way so I cant take it for a spin. Hopefully tomorrow!

I've got plenty of time to come back to the water pump, just couldn't wait!

I should probably pull the downpipe and wrap it. It seemed to get pretty hot just idling for 5 minutes. I didn't want to wrap it because of trapping moisture and rusting the pipe.
