1/4" seems way overkill. With how big my triangle is, I don't think I'm going to be stretching/compressing 1/8" steel. I don't plan on using them as tie downs.

I'm pretty happy with how the bed supports came out. They look awesome! One thing I did not notice is that the factory supports are offset a little bit so my tie in points to the bedside supports didn't line up. With the corners braced and the new support I can grab the bed rail and rock the entire truck and it all feels solid. No noticeable flex anywhere.

    Straight from Sendcutsend.com
    IMG_20200422_174058.jpg

All dimpled up. It took around 20-25 ton to do. I'm glad I was able to use the electric pump press at work.

    IMG_20200423_171638.jpg

Made a light cuts on each bridge with a cut off wheel and they bent easily.
    IMG_20200423_181536.jpg

Welding these gaps took forever. I think I went though 5lbs of wire. Going to change that to .135" instead of .2". The laser cutter has a limit of 1 to 1.5x the thickness of the material. For some reason I went the 1.5x route...

    IMG_20200423_212214.jpg

    All welded, ready for paint.

Good angle of how things lined up with the bedside supports.

    IMG_20200426_114217.jpg

Welding the 14 guage to the 10 guage sucked...

@Jiveydude @Empty_Lord @Blackdawg I know you guys expressed interest in these. I could send you the file and you can send it to whatever company you choose. Its really not feasable for me to make them myself with the amount of time it took to weld up and I'm not super stoked on how they line up with the bedside supports. Ill have to modify the drawing for no body lift.

    Three changes I've thought of:

    1. Make the gaps .135" instead of .2". Should be a lot easier to weld up.

    2. I think the bottoms could be dimpled too to cut some more weight if that is a concern. I think the right 1" die can do up to 3/16" thick.

    3. I can make the rivet holes larger if you would prefer to spot weld.

I would have preferred that but I didn't want to ruin the Line X. Trying to weld the two different metal thicknesses together will be a fun job.

Stuff and things that make it better.
That .2 gap does look a tad too big for fast welding but they turned out pretty nice. I'm probably going to hold off right now, toying with the idea of building a flatbed at the moment.

Be like tubbing. But spot welding shouldn't be too bad.

Once my bed is too far gone from cancer I'll be going that route.

Put the Nest back on. Used a ratchet strap to pull the sides in since they are so far spread apart. I was hoping that my bed gussets would help but as soon as I released the strap it went back to pulling the bedside out. It's actually flexing the bed floor... Not as bad as it was. IMG_20200514_185535.jpg

Installed a new D bushing on the steering rack. Hopefully the rack doesn't continue to slide in it now that it's not being doused in oil. If not idk what I'm going to do. Did a quick alignment after that and found my driverside jam nut not contacting the ITR. This isn't the first time I've found this either. Something I'll have to check more often I guess.

Got ahold of PLX and got the AFR/Boost guage Bluetooth app back to working again. I'm enjoying the updated version. Still has room for improvement though.

Was cleaning up the garage and found a half full can of seafoam. So I decided to suck it in through the intake to clean up some carbon. Noticed a decent amount of smoke coming from somewhere around the turbo so I still have a damn exhaust leak somewhere. :annoyed: Hopefully that is the reason my LTFT are high.

Ripped apart the front end of the T100 to install new control arm bushings and shocks. Discovered just about everything needs replaced up there. Ended up breaking the torsion bar adjustment bolt which sent the other end though the floor! Custom drain hole I guess. I much prefer the Tacoma suspension in every way. IMG_20200512_205642.jpg

    Updates:

still have an exhaust leak near the turbo.

    Melted maf harnesses

    Gas tank repair failed

    Broken air locker line

And the nail in the coffin... Cracked axle housing.

    Shitbox continues to be shitbox.

I got it. Just to frustrated to acknowledge trolling lol. And honestly I think I would have destroyed the composite bed rails by now.

    LOL I remember those days.

Very true, my bed is shot, I don’t even feel safe standing on the tailgate with the amount of movement around the tail lights
