Just put assembly lube on the crankshaft and slide then tap the pulley on.

Mine would not tap on....mine took a elephant sitting on a 1/2 in speed handle/breaker bar cranking that bolt in...
and that was after lubing HB, the shaft, and even lubing the damn threads on that bolt.....I'd back it out off every so often and regreased.....my boss came over to help me....we worked on that sucker till midnite...
And that was using a brandnew doorman HB.....$125 oreilys

Put so much stress on that bolt...I ordered another, replaced it and threw that one away....seriously...

Little did I know the key was already wasted and had wollowed out its seat on the crank...but that did not impede mounting the HB...I had it aligned right....

maybe that old crank shaft was out of spec...

If anyone was interested/looking for an update - mission accomplished! I was able to get the crankshaft pulley back on correctly keyed and torqued down to spec on the bolt! So far so good and no more oil leak :kona:
