I've noticed that when my v6 is warm and needs at least 2 cranks, usually 3, to start, I can hear an electronic noise, like a electric component charging up...A whine that starts low-toned and progresses to a high tone over a 3 seconds or so. Normal or abnormal?

90% of the time when this happens it turns out the injectors are leaking down and the trouble is 2 fold, one, its flooded, or two, it lost fuel line pressure so it needs to build up fuel pressure before starting because the fuel pump only runs while the engine is being cranked or is running. it could also be a combination of both situations at the same time.

get the truck warmed up then pull a plug and use bore scope to check if that injector is leaking, continue and repeat for all 6 cylinders until you check them all. you need to be quick because the leak/dripping may only go on for a minute or two at the most
