    at 19 its stock....no money
at 24 its modded to the gills, in som dough CHACHING!
at 32 your mods are less, but more comprehensive andexpensive, you follow some wisdom
at 40 your back to stock, you lie though, noone can see the air filter,or 4.33 gears, or that turbo, you just leave em in the dust pretending you never saw them

I value having no fights on a waranty and dont need a lift kit for hunting or skiing, though it would be fun. DT headers in 1-2 years but the truck doesnt need one. Yea I'm 41, after seeing my retirement get gutted, even with 15 yr to go , I figure why give a lot of my hard earned money to other people so they can be rich.

I'm older than most of you. Since I got my first taco in late September I have invested about $5K in aftermarket mods. Mostly due to this web site and ideas I've seen others do. I think I have finally gotten it to where I want it and I thank TW for helping me out in a big way!!!!!!

Yeah but I'm still better off than buying some fully loaded full size truck from GM, Chrysler or Ford. That's what I've done most of my life and I never had the personalized truck I have now. I'm very happy with my taco.

Think I'm in for around $500 but thats before a complete set of winter tires/rims &TPMS.
Cruise and int. wipers dont count as mods since they click right in.
weathertecs and air filters dont count either since they are easier than a shoelace to install.
........if I'm so stock then why is there so much stuff listed in my truck's bio.

I am 28 and have done some mods... the majority of which are for function and longevity of the truck (sliders, skid plate, wet okoles, etc.). I have decided to lay off the mods for now and improve the house.

Exactly...toys are about enjoyment and happiness...the way I look at it, if I'm already in it 30 grand, a few more to get it exactly the way I want it is no big deal.

Plus, maintaining my vehicles is actually a leisure activity for me.

I'm tempted to add some sound dampening, especially the rear wall, just not sure if it'll be noticably quieter, then move onto the H.U.

I'm 50 and only did the stuff that really needed doing that should have been done from the factory. 5100's all corners, helper springs on rear, formed floor mats, replaced crappy stock stereo / speakers, oil flitration bypass system, michelin 265-70R17's, tailgate anti-theft. I would like to put on a shrockworks bumper (anti-deer measure) someday. The one thing I wish I could find is a two-speed box for behind the transfer case to enable running a much lower rpm on highway to fix the abysmal gas mileage. Best I ever got was 17 mpg driving like a granny.

I wish I didn't have to do anything to it. If I had it to do over again, I think I would have just got another dodge ram (2003 - 06 model) with a cummins TD. Fuel would have been more expensive, but would have been a better truck with really no mods necessary unless want to run the power up.

I would be MUCH happier with this truck if it got reasonable mileage commensurate with its size. Pretty much done with mods unless directly specific functional.

598ci, glyde tranny, 9" housing. Cert. to run 7.00

    current fastest pass....7.57 @ 181.9 mph

I just got back from the shop, the 598 is loaded on a truck in route to Michigan to a pro stock builder who "claims" he can find an additional 100 hp and put the car in the 7.40ish range....at a cost lol
