I was just wondering anyone have an idea when the 2016 will be at the dealerships? I have a 2008 Sport Tacoma and am planning on selling it and hopefully get a 2016 if all works out. Thanks in advance!

Our local dealers in the Northwest are saying they will start to show up on the lots in August.

Generation manufacturing switch happened in August 2004 between the 1st and 2nd gen. Figure the same thing will happen again. Less than a week to ship them anywhere from Mexico and Texas so probably on the lots in September.

Per my dealer's inventory manager, allocation orders can be placed as early as May 1st. The line is officially planned to start 2016s on 15 July. Texas dealers are expecting to see trucks by mid August.

Don't care! My '06 suits me fine. Done buying brand new vehicles, not hating, just being practical.

OP, I have also heard August/September, but keep in mind that there might be limited selection at that time. Better off waiting a little bit to allow dealers to build up a little better inventory to give you some options. Unless of course you sit down with them earlier and order exactly what you want.

MFGs typically shut down for 1-2 weeks right after the 4th of July.

Plant maintenance is done at this time an production lines are retooled for production changes.

They fire back up and new models debut around August-September.

I have a 2016 Taco Limited on order, and it is supposed to be the first one delivered to my dealership here in Wisconsin. My sales gal is checking the factory information daily to get a handle on a possible ship date for the 8 2016s they have already sold. They (manufacturing) had originally said that my Taco was supposed to ship in the third week of September (and it's status is "in production"). However, Toyota central just told my dealer that they are going to delay the release (hopefully by only a week or two) so that they can build enough inventory to ship the first units to all dealers at the same time to satisfy politics.

There are already some on lots in Southern California. Not many, but they're on their way.
