It's an insanely tight fit, like the specs of it were off when they designed it or the specs of my truck is off, one or the two.

Either way, I have a couple questions, I can put it up but it refuses to line up with the 4 bolts in the front (For the record I am NOT running the IFS skid which is the second piece of the setup, nor the front skid plate). It's super close but the fit is so tight, if I do manage to get the plate lined up to all 4 holes, the plate will not line up in the rear on one side, but the other side has plenty of give on it's side. Was the plate designed to be mounted and fit perfectly with the rest of the setup or can it be installed independently and work without the rest of the other plates?

I hope that all made sense.

Not at the moment, I was too busy cursing and attempting fitment after fitment.. I gave up for the night after stripping two of the long bolts up front which holds onto the crossmember in the front of the T-case.

On a small sidenote though I did take some actual measurements of the 2 bolts on the drivers and the 2 on the passenger side and I found they are similar in measurement which ended up being something like 3 7/8" apart from eyelet to eyelet of the bolts, the measurements from the skid plate (after I widened the holes a little, which I shouldn't have to really do) is pretty close to those measurements as well, so I am not seeing the problem is. I am thinking maybe the actual metal on the back of the skid plate's walls (the part where you need to drill the holes on your frame at) is out of tolerance and are too wide for the frame, therefore causing the actual issues.

The plate was so tight to put in on the rear when I was attempting to test fit it, that I actually had to bang on the plate with a hammer for it to fit in between the frame which I would imagine I shouldn't have to do either.

Not yet. I purchased the plate from a member on here a while back and I have been to busy to put it on since then. Even if he could do something for me though I'm sure it would be somewhat of a long drawn process due to shipping to me and shipping back and all.

I was thinking the same thing but I do not see the plate hitting anywhere. The plates have a specific cutout to avoid contact with the crossover.

Here is what the plate looks like, it's actually the picture from the same guy who sold it to me.

The cutout for the crossover pipe of the V6 is to the lower left. The walls which hit and interfere if I line up the 4 mounting points up front are at the lower left and lower right.

That's actually the same set of directions that I read earlier before I attempted to install it just to make sure there wasn't something special I needed to do.

The holes on the front are CNC plasma cut. That shouldn't be your issue. It sounds like it's the legs. Eric measures the legs and plate width to account for frame width and leave some wiggle room. Sounds like the frame braces are too wide or your frame is different from others'. Give the shop a call in the morning, if you can measure between the two L plates, that'd be helpful. Not the bottom part with the hole but between the pieces that fit next to the frame on the inside.

It could be your frame is tighter than most or it could be the legs are too long. I'm going to assume the member who sold it to you didn't have any issues or he wouldn't have gotten the holes drilled or sold it to you without letting you know?

Mine fits perfect for what it's worth, but it was the first :p. I know this isn't a common issue regardless. He's pretty careful to measure the width of each one after it's all welded. They are different lengths on each side though oddly enough. Might also be helpful to measure from tip to tip on each leg -- inside of plate to outside of skid.

Interesting information.. Yeah the right side (passenger side) has some wiggle room, it's the left side (drivers) which is insanely tight to the point where if I do not use a hammer to bang it in, it won't even get close to going, it's actually slightly longer tell you the truth. The previous member only had the rear mounted he said for some reason, maybe he was having the same issue too?

Yeah, call in the morning, and give them some measurements. I showed Kolt this thread so he has a heads up.
