Relentless reinforcement panel with cap?

Hey all, I'm considering buying the @RelentlessFab tailgate reinforcement panel. Most of the time I run a midrise cap on my truck. Has anyone bought one of these reinforcement panels and also has a cap? What have you done to fix the seal and prevent the powder coat from rubbing off due to contact with the seal (+ road vibration) over time?


Bonus points if you're willing to share why you went steel vs aluminum

After a few years the harware is a little rusty all and all good product

 

It adds weight to the tail gate but with some dampers its ok

Mine is aluminum, no paint, I put some carpet on it

Because aluminum is strong and f*ck extra weight.

How far does that wrap over the top of the tailgate?

 

I'd like to get this, however, they won't ship to the southeast.

Anyone know of comparable product(tailgate plate) that is closer to the southeast?
