    Here's my Taco's story:
Bought the Truck on May 25th 2007 for $24,977+dealer fees, about $400 under invoice on it. Shes is an Access cab 4x4 SR5 4.0L with a 6 Manual and had a few extra options including: Limited slip, Tow package, Carpet floor mats, door sill protectors, and the Valor stainless exhaust tip..... didnt stay stock like this for long. Couldnt wait for my lift to come so the first thing i did was take off my 265/70R17 Cooper ST's on 17x9 Raceline Renegade 6 wheels from my Chevy 1500 I sold and put em on the Tacoma. My 3" spacer lift came a week later and got that on over the weekend in my garage(didnt know all the shit about spacers back then ). Next, i took my Alpine CDA-9553 HU from my chevy along with 800W amp and 12" sony sub and wired that up. I soon added some Toyota All weather floor mats and TRD seat covers to preserve the spotless new interior, and a Toyota bed mat to keep tools and stuff from sliding around in the bed. Next came my Diamond plate headache rack I designed, and then after the 'bent tailgate in the first month mod' came a diamond plate tailgate cover from the same guy that built the rack to help reinforce the weak-ass tailgate. By now i didnt like how my AAL had settled so i added an additional 1" block to the back and some Billstein 5100's to handle the extra lift, but after a while, they proved to be too short also. Finally, I added a Scangauge II, a K&N drop in and removed the 2ndary filter for good measure. I also bought a cheap $45 plastic storage box from wally world and threw it in the bed for some extra dry storage during the winter that can be taken out if i need the room.

The week after I bought it.

In my 2008 spring term of college i built a winch bumper out of Aluminum and got that on her too.... just no winch yet. After i got the bumper on, i installed a 3pc billet grille set and some Hella 500FF lights on the bumper to top it off. Later in the spring, a friend from college wanted my 2005 model Alpine HU for his '08 Dodge Ram 1500, so i went down to the local audio shop and chewed them down a little on a 2008 Alpine CDA-9886 HU with ipod adapter and USB hook up. I absolutely love this deck! This fall i threw on some new 255/75R17 BFG MT's and just last week i installed a JBA Cat-back and mounted my Highlift in my bed. Thats it for now!
    Now for the pics:

And now for some vid clips of what the JBA sounds like. The vids are kinda quiet so you’re going to need to turn your speakers up a bit. Sounds best through some speakers with a sub hooked up for the nice low growl.

Just a quick update on a few little things i've done.
-I painted my winter tire steelies black. Looks much better than the silver IMO
Before(thats my buddy Travis sitting in my truck):

I also found some neat looking fake carbon fiber that came in a sheet. I printed out 'TACOMA' in some 108pt font, taped it down and then cut it out with an x-acto knife. Put the sticker on the glove box, think it looks subtle but pretty cool:

Time for an update on some of my newest mods. Since my last update here are the things I've added: A Cold air intake, a bike fork mount that bolts to the bed cleats, A 10" Alpine Type-R sub in a custom box and some alpine S-type 6x9's in the front and 6.5's in the rear doors. I also got the leaf spring TSB done, and finally just last week I bought a lightly used Warn XD9000i multi-mount winch to help with those stuck situations like this night wheeling pic from last friday;)
    IMG_0043_4ee2899e23288c7004300fa239071e915d578b08.jpg
Hopefully in a few weeks I'll also have some OME 885 coils on the front and a new AAL on the rear to bring it back up a little after the TSB.
Pics of the new mods to follow in the near future.........

Yep, built the bumper myself. I'll be able to do a few finishing touches to it in about a month or so in a fabrication class at my college, and then finally paint it up. It should look pretty sick when its finally all done. Stay tuned.
Here's a Photoshop'ed preview to what it will look more like when painted:

Well, really, just strip it to the frame, have an idea of what you want it to look like and how it needs to function, then start cutting and welding. Really thats about it. It just takes a bit of welding and fabrication skill, the tools to do it, and the ability to visualize things like this.
