Reliability concern

I bought a 2018 tacoma trd off road SB last june 2018. So far I've had two warranty repairs needed. The slave cylinder for my manual clutch had to be replaced and the front motor mount bushings needed replacing. This concerns me since it needed repairing before i hit 30k miles. Anyone have any info on this? Think i'll be replacing this stuff after my warranty passes?

 

Recalls/warranty issues happen with all things, more so in vehicles. I had a brake master cyl. recall on my Sport as well as the TSS sensor recall. My bed alignment was off and my shift knob was loose. I fixed those myself. I still trust my truck and do not think any less of it.

 

The OEM motor mount bushings are garbage and have been on pretty much every Tacoma built since 2005. Nothing new, and simple fix. The clutch “slave” (release) cylinder is a cast part and sometimes there are casting flaws that aren’t noticeable until some use is put on it.

In short, you have no reliability issues. Your truck is a machine and like all other machines, things sometimes need to be repaired or replaced.

 

I did my last free oil change myself to keep the truck away from the dealer and that TTS fix. Are they still just slapping the foam on there and calling it a day? How did you feel about the fix?
I'm seriously considering going after mine with the pressure washer, if you know what I mean.

 

Yes, they just slapped the foam over it. When I had my grille out replacing the chrome ring with the black one, I re-adjusted the position of the foam. I have not any issues and we have had some pretty nasty rain storms since then.

I might have missed where he said he's selling it. Anyways, that's why mfg have warranty periods because it's a machine with thousands of moving parts. They are bound to fail. Just be thankful it happened within your warranty period
