How did they fail? Were you driving down the road one sunny day and it fell off the truck or did it happen some other way?

 

Let me guess. You took the truck in for oil change and they told you that it is normal to get a new trans at 30k miles. You told them go ahead and change it.

 

I too swap out my transmission at every oil change. Just on the off chance something goes wrong in the near future

 

There's nothing wrong with a little preventative maintenance for peace of mind.

 

You're getting awful close to the Land Rover theory of automotive reliability. Buy two, one to drive while the other is in the shop.

Guess you were right, except apparently for Tacomas you need three instead of two.

 

His truck can identify as whatever it wants to.
I mean, its already had two tranny surgeries.

 

I’m in the camp that would like to know why a transmission that’s pretty much bullet proof was replaced twice. Did you do something to wreck it that the rest of us should be aware of?
