You're forgetting about Fiat's. They won't get that high miles most of the time sadly.

Got rid of both my WRX's before 10k miles as well. The 15 had many issues, sometimes wouldn't start, burned oil, often wouldn't go into 1st or Reverse, engine knocked where you could hear it "yes 93 octane and tried boosters." ETC. They talked about engine replacement so I traded for a 16, it started loosing power during acceleration, like zero as if it died, clutch all the way out on the gas, speed didn't matter. After doing this dozens of times and almost getting T-boned it was gone and I won't buy Subaru again. Dealer said it tested fine but you can find long threads on Nasioc about it. Never tuned no mods on either & always broken in properly.

But to be fair, the only big issues I've ever had out of many vehicles "MANY" was Subaru. I've watched people beat the Hell out of Toyotas including my wife who wrecked her 03 Corolla 3 times and didn't know what an oil change was, we sold it at 100k running fine and that's why I have a Tacoma now. If it lets me down I'll buy something else but the way I see it odds are in my favor, plus it was built 1-7-17 so with the updates already there I haven't found a complaint.

My 1979 Subaru DL MT Wagon had no issues in 123k miles.

My 1990 Subaru Justy MT 4WD, had no issues in 87K miles.

My 1991 Loyale GL10 AT, busted head gasket at 90k miles.

My 01 Outback MT was bulletproof till 133K miles.

My 2016 WRX 6MT limited, no issues in 1500 miles, but I got bored in a month and traded it in to the Tacoma.

Worst I had was a battery that died prematurely on my Tacoma and that was an easy fix.

Also with the sub zero temperature and crud build up on the car, my door handle would stick open and I wouldn't notice and end up locking myself inside the car lol.
Apparently if the door handle outside the door doesn't fully close, the inside handle doesn't work either. It's nothing I'd complain about. Just thought it funny.
I've never had this happen before and once I washed the Tacoma, it never happened again.

Cool to see you had a new gen Rex as well. They have many good qualities to them, bang for buck they are the best AWD sports cars. They are just realllllly quirky, it seems outside of FI, Subaru stuff seems to be great, especially the older stuff. I just won't do it again especially now that I live 70 miles from a dealer.

    Agree

Also the interior quality is subpar

    I have had Mazda's too
    Great cars

But you can tell how Subaru and Mazda are 2nd tier Japanese companies

I have a 16 Sr5 DCLB 4x4 just turned 24k, all I have done is change oil and rotate tires. Only complaints, are rear springs bottom out on rough roads, and lack on low end torque, spends a lot of time in 3 & 4th gear at highway speeds when towing, nature of the beast. Other than that very happy

Exactly. Because Toyota knows they'll sell every single copy of the Tacoma that Texas & Mexico can churn out Toyota has refused to buy off CR for the coveted good reliability ranking.

Seems pretty obvious several posters don't understand where the reliability rating/rankings come from and why those numbers are different than the road test and overall vehicle rankings by CR. Even better, armed with this lack of familiarity they still are miraculously able to form an informed opinion. Carry on.

I had an oil consumption issue with my old Outback. It ended up lasting over 250k.

Woodrow F Call, I have a Subaru Forester 16 Touring Turbo model and haven't had any issues with it to date. First Subaru, replaced a Honda which I have had great luck with. I hope the Forester is 3/4ths as reliable as the Honda. The turbo concerns me, but mostly driven by my wife who does not get on the gas much. Time will tell, fun car to drive.

I was hesitant to buy the 17' Tacoma based on Consumer Reports. I do think Consumer Reports does a good job, though one has to understand their methods and see how the model fits the needs. The only reason I have concerns with the 17' Tacoma is due to reliability concerns. Time will tell, but the first time I've gone against Consumer Reports on a bad rating for a vehicle. Have had well over 200K on last number of vehicles. The Tacoma I just sold and replaced with the 17' had well over 300K and only replaced a U-Joint and a couple coil packs. I only changed the transmission fluid one time. It was bullet proof from Canada to Mexico. Kind of miss it, but was concerned about reliability as small things were going out like a short in the cruise control. Didn't want to break down on a cross country vacation!

Ours is a non-turbo model. As much as I like turbos for fun cars, I shy away from them on something I just want to go 300K miles. We really like the car though, been on some fun trips in it.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I was thinking it looked like a ridgeline. Or are we really saying that there seems to be an apparent lack of design individuality since they all look the same-ish.

I don't care if it looks like a Chebbie or not, if it's as reliable and bullet proof as my 09 Ranger was than I'd give it a serious look when my Taco goes TU

They are going to change all the sheet metal on that Ranger, my guess is it will look like a smaller F150.

My Taco TRD Sport is one year old, has 11,000 miles, and has gone from Ohio to Florida and back twice, and has had ***0*** issues with reliability. I love it, and plan to keep it for 10 years.

I love Toyota bu the gen 3 rollout has been pretty bad. Don't take offense because someone says something less than flattering about your truck. Toyota needs to step up the QDR.
