Probably Speer 225 grain Gold dot bullet, 15.8 grains of Blue Dot powder, velocity of 1015 or 1045 fps. That's my guess.

So I'm about to do my first reloads. My friend gave me the recipe. Think I'll be better off doing just a couple or doing a large batch. Will be using a Dillon 650 and using this recipe...

    124GR RN Berry's
    4.3gr titegroup
    1.155 OAL

Enough to make it worth shipping. Depends what you have. Mixed head stamps are fine.

    I have had very good results out of 9mm's ranging from Glock 26 and 34 to S&W and Springfield XD sub compacts with a similar recipe and highly recommend it, I would say you will have the same with your friend's recipe. I load ;

    124 GR RN Berry's
    4.0 gr Titegroup
    1.160" OAL

As far as how many to load the first time ? I personally only load 10-20 rounds when I am testing new handgun loads then if I'm happy with the results I load until I run out of supplies, especially with a progressive setup.

Yeah just a pain to get to a range to test them. I don't belong to a range right now.

4.0 gr of Titegroup under a 124 GR projectile is super accurate and is very soft to shoot out of any gun I've put it through, I've loaded hundreds of rounds for friends and they absolutely love it also. I understand the range issue but take it from somebody that has done it, you don't wanna load a few hundred rounds just to have to go back and pull em because you didn't test the load first. If nothing else load a magazines worth and test them in yours or a buddy's back yard just to make sure

Unfortunately I can't shoot within 500yds of a home in this state, coupled with houses being on top of each other.....Backyard shooting is out of the question haha. Fuck this state sucks.

Spent the evening re-measuring chambers and prepping/priming 500 .223 and 60 300 Win Mag cases. Will load 300 55 FMJ, 100 77 SMK, and setting up 100 Berger 70 grain VLD to be worked up this weekend. For the 300 Win Mag, I will make 30 190 SMK and stage 30 208 A-Max for work-up/chrono duty.

Reloaded about 400 rounds of 223 today. Has anyone used a general purpose dry lube? I got a case stuck, so after getting it out I started using a ton of dry lube and it worked great. Aside from buildup on my reloading blocks and the ammo, I don't see a downside. Some dry lube rubbing off in my mags can't hurt either. After today I'm about ready to put the Hornady One Shot lube back on the shelf & just use an off the shelf dry lube from now on.

Not sure on the dry lube, but I only use One Shot on my precision ammo since I only do 30-50 at a time. For mass processing/loading, I just use the RCBS lube. I will process thousands at a time to last me a few months, so I just lather my hands up with the stuff and run my hands through each batch of brass until it's all nicely coated. Takes about 30 seconds to do 500 or so casings, and once you're sized, it might take another 15-20 minutes in the tumbler to clean it all off. I have never had a single stuck case in years and years of reloading using this method.

One thing you do NOT want to do is use a spray lube in conjunction with a bottled lube. One is alcohol based and the other is oil. Talk about a stuck casing. My buddy made this mistake and destroyed a Redding 300 Win Mag die trying to remove the casing.

Interesting stuff. I don't really want to adopt a method where I tumble after sizing as I'm using a progressive. I definitely didn't know about the oil/alcohol issue - that's good stuff. Going to tumble/load 500 or more today...we'll see how it goes.

Frankford Arsenal makes good case lube (comes in a bottle and has a sparay nozzle), that's all I've ever used so I can't give any comparison to any other brands. I put my rifle brass in a cardboard box, spray them with the lube, shake them around, then let them sit a few minutes. After sitting a few minutes I spray the brass (lightly) again and shake them up before I resize them. I only use lube on my rifle brass because I still load rifle with a single stage, I never lube my pistol brass and I use a progressive press for them.

Loaded several hundred more today using TDL dry lube. Worked well, but these were noticeably more difficult than yesterday's loadings. I assume that's because I was running commercial 223 yesterday, and military LC brass today.

223 is about as large a rifle case as I'd want to load on a Lock-n-load AP. 300 BLK is a lot easier, more like a pistol round.
