I have a Dillon progressive with the strong mount. Decided I also wanted a
single stage for larger calibers and bought one of the RCBS Rockchucker's.
Bought one of the Dillon strong mounts for it, just had to modify it a little bit.
Don't really care for the press sitting so low. Worked out really well.

I just have a lock-n-load classic at the moment and bought one of the Inline fab mounts, I thought my friend was kidding about moving it higher, what a huge difference

Does anybody have a used priming tool and powder scale that they would want to sell?
Somehow I have miss placed my priming tool and powder scale and those are the only tools that I need to finish loading.

Edit: I think I got what I need

I’m just missing powder, some primers (I have every type but small rifle), calipers, and dies (223 and 243 are next).
My sister has said that if I cook some light shooting loads for the 243 she would like to use it as a step up from the .22 that she shoots now.

Ok gentlemen, I’m looking for a sonic cleaner, will mainly be used for brass but will also see suppressors and other gun parts as well as the occasional household item/jewelry, recommendations for a $150 budget?

I built a little shelf in the wall this evening after work, I think I’m going to find some insulation board and put between the siding and shelf just to keep radiant heat down.
Sometime this week I want to make a wall mounted holder that I can just drop the die/bushing combo into and have them sorted by caliber since the bushings don’t fit in the die boxes.

I have so much 556,9mm and 308 brass it’s just stupid. Now if only I could find as many primers....

I started mocking up a die holder system tonight, I think I want to put the dies, shellholder, and load data on a 2x4 for that caliber and then just have a rack system between the studs to slide the die holder onto.

A quick data sheet using load info from Nosler for the 100 grain accubond bullet, assuming I can get 2660 FPS (or close to it) with the IMR4198 powder and 100 grain accubond I should have more than adequate velocity for expansion out to 200 yards.

Side note: this calculator from Hornady is pretty cool and easy to use. https://www.hornady.com/team-hornady/ballistic-calculators/#!/standard

Same. I had 75 lbs of 9mm brass that I sorted and cleaned this summer and I managed to collect about 35 more lbs before the snow hit. I have some primers but nowhere near enough to plug all the brass.

I have the little Hornady sonic cleaner but it doesn't even come close to cleaning brass like my stainless tumbler. I haven't used it in a few years. No idea how it would be for parts.

It won’t effect what you’re looking at but your BC is actually the G1.

Polish wise or carbon removal? Or both? From the videos I’ve watched the ultrasonic doesn’t clean to a polish like tumbling media but seems to be pretty good at cleaning the carbon,

Thanks for the heads up, I’ll have to read up on G1 vs G7, I did a quick search and saw an image representing G1 as a round nose flat base bullet whereas the G7 was represented as more of a spitzer with a boat tail.
I still have a lot to learn about ballistics.

All the G’s are “models”. G1 doesn’t represent anything, it’s ballistic characteristics are referenced and quantified to a model that is of a round nosed, non-boat tailed bullet.

G7 model is that of a boat tail, secant ogive bullet, which is closer to what we in the long range shooting community more often use.

Closer....but still not as correct as say a custom drag model. You really don’t see any huge difference of G1 vs G7 until you shoot into subsonic assuming scaled averages exist for both models based on speed of the projectile in question. This would be why you might see slightly different BCs for the same bullet amongst different shooters in their solvers.

Ive had the Harbor Freight one for ~8 years now and it works fine. I dont use it for brass but use it for cleaning other gun parts. I do wish I had a bigger unit though as the small ones dont hold all that much (and with some gun parts being awkward shapes they dont always fit)

For brass though....wet tumbling is pretty much all I do now.. Some times just walnut media then resize then wet tumbling. But more often than not just wet.

It probably does clean carbon well, but I really only used it for brass and the results were kinda meh. The wet tumbling is magnificent. I will say that I tried cleaning some small parts and a magazine in the sonic cleaner once using the brass cleaning chemical (because that was all I had) and it took the bluing off everything. So make sure you use the right chems.
