Yeah, I'm a hours drive away from any sporting goods store that sells primer and powders so that stinks. I ask my cousin if he'd help me out and stop by and check supplies once in awhile.
I should inventory primers and see but think small pistol are getting low.

I bought most of what I have during one of the last ammo crunches at $50 per 1k. Never thought I would be more than happy to pay that price again at some point.

I had a coworker ask me if I had small rifle primers I could sell him. I picked up a 1000 earlier this year for tax and everything it was close to $90.00 Winchester similar to CCI 41's iirc military primers. I offered him those 1000 at same price I paid. Haven't seen any primers since, and very little powder.

I haven’t seen primers for over a year now. I did learn my lesson last time there was a shortage of primers and bought a few boxes. As I reload I know I can’t replace them at $150 + per box. Let’s see how long this shortage last. I wonder what the new normal price will be?

Midway currently has CCI 41 small rifle nato spec primers in stock right now for $99.99 per 1000. If you check in every day they get stuff in here and there. The other day they had 5 or 6 different types of CCI primers in stock.

Also I don’t think we are ever going back to $35 per 1K prices. The new norm is probably going to be double that when it settles back down.

It’s not even done going up yet. We’ll see after 2022 what it all ends up being. After that, since its an obvious market that people keep buying, it will be for sure an item that slowly goes back down to whatever it’s end market price is going to be, with a very very strong likely of being much higher than $35 a brick.

The fact is, people fucked up the economy and the resources used to make primers are behind. The demand has increased.

    It is what it is.

Yeah who knows when prices come down, I’m starting to see ammo/ primers on the shelf locally so hopefully that’s a start. But my local gun store is selling bricks for $15. I got some primers this past year in buck average $7 a brick. I can afford $7…and I’m still loading less than I can buy factory loads, but if I were forced to buy at $15 a brick I would consider selling everything.

Are you using brick in the same frame of reference as everyone else? A brick is 1000 primers, if you're getting that for $7 I will fly out there, buy a bunch and still save money after the plane ticket cost.

Even at $7/100 that is $70/k which is better than most of us are probably doing. I am about at the point of pulling the trigger on the no.41 primers I have found at $250 for 2k

Varget and Benchmark are the only powders I've got in 8 lb jugs. Maybe 6 lb each left. The way things are now I'm just very glad I bought extra stuff when I started in reloading.

I have a decent stash of other powders thankfully, but its just not the same especially with colder weather upon us. H4350 has been a good temp stable substitute for rolling .303british.

I understand. Plus sometimes a best load will call for certain powders. I bought the 8 pounds of Varget because it works decent for my 308's plus versatile enough for .223
The 303 British. When I was a kid my step dad picked up a couple of old rifles and one happened to be chambered 303 British. I forget the story of those rifles but they were supposed to be destroyed and covered in concrete. I remember the neighbor down the street helped him determine what it was, and then the first time we fired it off; set it inside a car tire with a string tied to the trigger...we hid behind the concrete bridge structure and he give the string a tug. It didn't blow up. How we proof tested it:rofl:
I couldn't have been but around 8 years old at the time.
