Found these at academy the other week, I need to go load some more 6.8SPC for deer season.

If anyone has some .277 90 grain Gold dots or 100 grain accubonds I could use some.

    Interesting.

    That looks too easy.

Anyone in here have experience with a Dillon RL1050? Buddy of mine is selling his with a Mr bullet feeder and I’m kinda tempted.

I have a 550, and can only speak for Dillon - the machine is all they say it is.

Works great. Customer service is no-BS.

    You won't be disappointed.

Until you try to find primers, that is.......

I remember walking into Sportsman's Warehouse, and picking up a box of primers, seeing the price at ~$35.00, and tossing them into the cart.

I also remember thinking "how many boxes do I need?"

Today, I know the answer to that question...

I use the 550 and it has serine very well. Dillon is one of the best companies out there. I bought my press used and they repaired it for free. The paper work showed over $200 worth of parts was replaced. You can’t beat that.

I've heard other stories like that.

Recently, I was setting up 9mm dies, and couldn't get the powder drop working correctly. I called tech support, and the guy worked with me for 45 minutes on the phone getting it right. Super nice guy, he knew a lot about the machines (and I learned a thing or two). We had a great conversation, and got my press set up.

Can't ask for more than that.

I've used one. A buddy has one. If the price is right they are amazing. He also talked me out of getting on though. Pretty much said everything costs double for it (caliber swaps) and if you aren't loading tons it's hard to justify. Basically came down to a either shoot a ton for the savings to add up, or you need to load a large amount in a short period of time (ie you are limited on time). I ended up buying a 550 for myself and just took his advice of just spend 20-30 minutes in the morning or whenever and pop out a 100-200 rounds and it'll add up fast

Man, you guys talking about all of these fancy progressive presses. I feel like I'm in the dark ages still over here doing 80% of my stuff on a Rock Chucker with a Lyman T-Mag turret press setup just for sizing and belling pistol brass.

Unless I'm planning to do more than a couple hundred, I use my old TMag.

My progressive press has not seen action in a while. Unless the primer situation changes, the good ol days of doing 2-3k round batches are on hold.....

I have Rock Chucker as well - I only load a couple of specific loads on the 550.

I’ve got a few primers, not in a bind to get more but I pick them up when I do see them.
I know he has shelves full of small rifle primers but he is a small ammo manufacturer.

    Good to know, thanks!

So right now I have a Lee single stage. I never use it because of two reasons, 1. It’s not at my house, and 2. Aside from my 6.8 SPC hunting ammo I don’t feel it’s worth my time to load the calibers that I shoot often, my wife says my motorcycle takes too much time so trying to load 500+ rounds.

Dillon is a solid company and I really like my 650 for pistol(9/10/45) but use my Redding single stage for my rifle. Don't think you would be disappointed with any Dillon product as people have said they have great customer service.
Not sure why it took me this long to find this thread.

Designing my new loading bench, how tall are y'alls benches from floor to top of the bench?
I'm thinking of going 42" to the table top, it's the average for bar height and I like either standing to load or sitting on a bar stool.

    Yes.
    Vehicle:
    pickup truck
    Desk height, 29"

Inline fabrication ultramounts on some presses, some are mounted right to the bench. Can stand or sit depending on what I'm doing. Bar stools suck for loading, they remove all leverage.

42" seems high, unless your 6'5".
