usually a few hours is fine but I have forgot about them before and they have gone overnight with no draw backs other than they were real purty and shiny.

I know alot of people that only tumble for a hour or so let them go till they are as clean and shiny to your preferance. I clean mine twice through out the complete reloading process.

Another question, I have a bunch of 9mm brass that's fired but isn't deprimed, can I tumble those?

I actually prefer doing it this way so the media doesn't get in the primer pocket.

This link here for bullets. You can't really get any cheaper than $.12/round unless you go with someone online who casts. I'm not sure if he's taking new orders or is backed up yet. Let me know if you order some!

Oh, and unless your equipment is Intangible, I believe you depreciate it. Just the Accountant side of me... :p:D

I've used Oregon Trail for years with good results for competition .45. Last summer I tried a slightly cheaper brand but found the wax in the gas seal was extruding into the die and screwing up my OAL. I've started using Berry's for 200g SWC and HP- so far they seem okay.
Oh, and I buy crushed walnut shells at Petsmart (base media for terrariums) with a little Brasso stirred in- works fine.

If I reloaded shotgun, I could go to the range and come back with thousands of empties.....hell, I could pick up wads even (I don't think you can reuse those...)

how much does it cost you to reload 20 gauge for a skeet load? (Per round)

    I'm curious of the difference

also, has anyone ever used a reloading service where you provide the brass?

I have been thinking about doing just that, since I don't have time to reload because of school. I would seriously consider having my 45 colt brass reloaded if the discount was enough.

can anyone recommend the used of a Lee loader for .45 colt?

the price point on it makes it very appealing to me, particularly because I have plenty of spare time when not in school. For the price, I almost want to give it a try because I can. and if I buy primers, bullets, brass, and powder, I can use it for a regular press to whenever I upgrade. And I can fit all this in my apartment lol

so is the lee loader a good way to find out if you like reloading?

by the way, I'm talking about the loader that you use a hammer, looks like this

it is everything needed to do (very) basic reloading

Or the lee hand press? (Which I would have to buy dies for, that I could use on a bench press whenever I upgrade too

It could be done, but that's about the hardest way I can think of to do it.

Before you buy anything be sure you can find primers. They are hard to come by here.

If I bought the hand press, I would be reshaping and depriming all my brass while looking for primers every chance I got. And pick them up whenever I saw them. I will eventually have a regular press, and once I get out of college, I will end up with a progressive press, probably a dillon. But for now I am wanting to start really cheap. According to my math, I can load 500 45 colt for like 250, that includes buying equipment. To buy new ammo, it would be about 300 per 500 rounds.

I do realize that the lee loader or hand press (I lean hand press) would be slow though.
