I recovered it, drove back down, put my junk back on a trailer, had to reweld most of the brackets on the axles.

I was given 6800.00 for that oops.

Never had a issue. My address and phone number is on my checks. Show my id when I write it. Worked great when tow truck driver flipped my Jeep back over the right side up after I fucked up on the beach lol. Agreed though cash is king

While I'm doing the upper BJs, do I need to go ahead and do the lowers or bushings? Truck has been lifted since 200 miles, 75k on it now.

It would be a good idea to do upper and lowers.

Yea that's what I'm thinking - I have some grease seeping from the side that popped yesterday. Having a tough time compressing the LCA, bushings might be bound up

Have to do routine checks on these things, especially if residing in salt belt/rust prone areas.

Glad nobody was injured and you were able to be recovered.

There's not even a boot left on that joint to hold grease...

It ripped off when it popped out, I yanked it off the rest of the way when strapping it in place. Couldnt tell from outside the boot that there were any issues

You mention USAA, I have asked them personally if they will cover offroad/ off highway/ unmaintained roads and they said yes just as long as you are not jumping it or racing it. I was bogged in a mud pit hydrolocked , got pulled out bent my plate bumper, bent my skids hit some major rocks, broken headlights, grill, clogged radiator, ac condenser, front main seal leaked, starter issues, they covered all of it. Took some time cause usaa DOES NOT do their adjustments they send a 3rd party. might have to get usaa to send out an adjuster till you get a competent one. send all your receipts/ or some proof of what you own to usaa of your damaged aftermarket parts and they will refund you what you paid to buy new parts. Good luck.

Thanks - I ended up not filing a claim because the damage appears minimal. What will end up costing me money now is adding on other items that might not need to be replaced now but would be wise to go ahead and do while I'm in there replacing the upper BJs

I have a set of SPC ucas and had one ball joint rust and cause a popping noise. Thankfully didn't have full failure like you did. That was with the non-greasable style. I contacted SPC and they sent me a new pair of greasable ball joints with the only cost being mailing the old ones back.

It was somewhat BS since they charged me and then refunded it back when the old joints were received by them.

I'm reaching out to them tomorrow to see if they'll help me out with some new BJs, I don't expect them for free due to how long I've had the UCAs but if they offered a discount or shipping I'd be pleased.

Still doing some research, but right now I'm planning lower ball joints (moogs), new bushings upper and lower, new cam bolts, new upper ball joints, and I'm going to go ahead and do the tie rod and sway bar end links. From what I've read, the lowers are a pain in the ass and I may be better off having a shop press them in or just replacing the whole LCA.
