Looks like Toyota has received enough complaints from 2011-2017 Taco owners. Folks should be getting their notices in the mail.

Authorized Toyota dealer will "inspect" and if "deemed" appropriate will CRC your undercarriage free of charge. Campaign is running through 31Jul2022. Significant corrosion will lead to a complete frame replacement...you know the drill...

It's 7/31/2022, not 7/31/2020. I just checked my letter received yesterday.

I just about had a heart attack thinking I had to get it in before the end of the month. So I checked my letter.

2017 is included. I have a friend at toyota corporate and the years in scope are based on complaints. They require a minimum of 100 owner complaints to include additional vehicle model years. Kind of scary tho, 2011-2017 means at least 700 individual owners with potential issues.

'17's are on the list already.

'18 + are just waiting for a couple more neglected winter uses. They'll be along shortly.

With the disaster in the mid 90's Toyota had with frame rust, how in the hell do they let this happen again? I mean, there were pictures of Tacoma's on lifts that had broken in half. Boggles the mind to think they have even a hint of a problem again.

I heard that is why they moved away from the fully boxed frames, and now only use it in certain parts. Water would get it, get stuck and rust it to hell. But then again, what's everyone else doing that toyota can't figure out?

I heard it was a metallurgy issue
Also i don’t think they’re using a properly bonding paint - if its the same as what they’re using on the leaf springs, mine has just flaked off - revealing rust beneath

The main issue is that the domestics don't typically last long enough for the frames to rot out.

I got the letter for my '13 Sport. About a month after I sold it. Had no rust issues on the frame that I could find (107k miles, 6 years of ownership). Of course, they don't use salt very much down here the 2 days a year it does snow/ice. Though, I had been up North in winter several times.
I had an 04 S10 with similar age that would give you tetanus if you glanced under it.

Get them oil sprayed yearly, and the frames will all last. Toyota did the check on my frame and it's immaculate. rust check'd yearly.

Is it for all trucks up to and including 2017? A few months ago the dealership mentioned there were no open recalls/campaigns for my 17 Sport...
