    My grandmother was born in 1897.

    Even though she never had a driver's license, she drove a truck on the docks during WW1 because of the labor shortage.

    She was a really sweet lady, but tough on the inside.

    I remember once when I was really young, we were waiting for a train.

    There were some teenage girls in private school uniforms waiting, and a man exposed his genitals to them. It happened really quick, and I think more people saw it but didn't act.....my grandmother rushed towards him yelling and I think she was going to hit him- she was really upset...looked like he almost shit himself and he ran like hell at her approach.

    My grandpa wore denim overalls every day of his adult life. My grandma made homemade buns everyday. They were fantastic. Lots of ladies copied her recipe but never tasted quite as good. I think she had a secret ingredient that she "forgot" to tell them about.

    I was always envious of other people who grew up with grand parents. Never met mine except for maybe a couple of times. Still, was taken in by a few of my friends grand parents so that was nice.

    My town had a public swimming pool when I was growing up. We would get season passes and walk or ride bikes everyday it wasn't raining. They had a jukebox and when Don"t Stop Believin' by Journey came out, it was played almost every other song.20181019_113028.jpg

    Sven was on at 8-10pm Saturday, opposite Love Boat and Fantasy Island. With two sisters, I always got outvoted, so they got to watch that corporate crap on the color TV, while I had to watch the good stuff on this old B&W, rabbit ear relic in the basement. Although, that kinda added to the effect.
