    Uncle Monte?

    or this?

Funny, my conversation this morning was all positive, I remember Monte Hall as a likeable guy who had class. The drama was simple, real, and mostly fun. My coworker remembered the end of the show where Monte would ask the audience for obscure everyday objects"ill give you $100 for a paperclip"...... that's entertainment...lol.

I totally agree. The original was pretty good with a touch of class. The remake leaves little to be desired.

If you turned really sharp, the old vinyl would sling you across the seat.

I bet no one has ever experienced this.
On alot of late 60's thru 70's cars, most of the headliners were cardboard with sometimes tiny holes in a pattern.

If you looked at the pattern from 3-4 ft away and kinda crossed your eyes and didn't focus on the pattern, the pattern would become 3 dimensional and the dots would float away from the headliner.

I actually remember the dots. We pulled big chunks of headliner out of my mom's car. I don't remember her being happy about it.

My brother and I were about 8 or so (1974) and we were out with my grandmother and great grandmother. My great gram went into the drug store to pick up a prescription and my brother and I were being rowdy in the back seat.

My grams told us to behave several times and then finally asked "Do you want a backhand"?

Apparently, I had never experienced this form of punishment before and so I asked the obvious question. "What's a backhaaaa....."?

Before I could even finish my question, I felt the mighty force of the back of her right hand.

It would be a question that I would never, ever ask again.
Even today, my grams will raise the back of her hand and smile at me. :)

Anybody remember when dime and quarter coins were were mostly all silver?....

No copper color line around the edge.

Much much later, pennies stopped being made from all copper.

And Buffalo nickles and Indian head pennies?.......
