Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
It had 336 gears a 100 mph would be simple.

Doing Rough calculations we figured Top end was around 160 mph This was in 74-75 way less traffic .

On a just completed Interstate with very little traffic in the wee hours.

With those Gears Romping on it 60mph in first gear never broke anything.

I had a friend in High school with the Rotary engine

Nice! 60 in 1st. Can only imagine it.
There is someone on TW who has an RX-7. Lucky SOB...

I got my '66 Mustang 289 up to 100 on a flat FL back road once to thrill my GF. Didn't expect much more tho.

All of our high speed driving was done out in West Texas. Nothing there but miles & miles of nothing but miles & miles!
It was a fun place to learn about halogen lights too. They had just become legal in the US. We'd illuminate something on the far horizon, then odometer check it to our arrival at it. Well over a mile for the objects big enough for our eyes.
I guess the speed limit out there today is either "80 mph" or "Safe & Prudent".

2 years later seems you were correct. All 3 major indexes at record highs late 2020 through the end of 2021.

    Then 1st of 2022 :ohsnap:

We used those and railroad locomotive lights to attract fish on the TX gulf coast. But never put one in a (wheeled) vehicle...

I was ready to ask, where in the US would you feel safe cruising at 120 mph for any length of time. Glad I read the other posts first... Very nice.

I've driven the autobahn and had my rental up to 238 km/h.
When I was in the outback, driving in the Territory (back when they had no-limit), I had the rental doing 160 km/h easy... Doing 200+ for a length of time was stressful. I could do 100 mph / 160 km/h easily for long periods. I was concerned about cattle on those open ranges.

I wouldn't feel safe doing that today in the States... the roads aren't kept well enough to make me feel comfortable doing it.

It will come back. It always does. And if you are retiring in the short term, you need not worry. You really only draw what you need in the short term. When the tide rolls in, all the boats will rise, and the funding you leave in aggressive investments will shoot right back up.

I have 5-8 years to retirement deepening on the Market.
Not really worried I rode it down and back up in 2008-2009. I'll do the same now.
I'm 100% in equities. Mainly 2 mutual funds. One heavily Nasdaq and the other an S&P index fund. Love the .02% expense ratio!
I was for the past few years 80% Nasdaq and 20% S&P. I did late December move to 50-50 each over concerns of Big Tech and interest rate increases. Just glad I did. Both have took a beating recently. Just the S&P not quite as much.

Remember Ozzy before he became a mumbling freak?

Remember life before baggies and plastic garbage bags?

Remember when things had an off button that really turned them on and off instead of just putting them to sleep?

Remember that push mowers had steel wheels before they had rubber wheels?

Remember when there was no such thing as foam padding? Car seats and furniture were stuffed with cotton batting and curly horse hair.
