    No air conditioning either. 4 girls shared a small bedroom on the second floor which felt like an attic.

    In fact, if you come across any of these for purchase today, look on the back side of the box and you'll see perforations in the shape of a capital I.

    The cardboard was perforated but not the wax-paper liner. And it was almost impossible to rip that liner in straight lines. Hence my comment of "slice and eat" as you wanted to use a knife to cut the wax paper just right to prevent milk leakage.

    No air conditioning for me either. All the way through to college. (Well, some of the classrooms had AC but not my sleeping quarters.)
