China entered the Korean War. No TV, the news broke into a radio broadcast.

I have one of those and -I still use it every other mowing. I will admit it is a workout -somewhat lessened when the ground is wet

I vaguely recall something about Watergate, but really didn't know anything about whatever the hell it was. I do remember the national hub-bub and festivities about the Bicentennial.

Challenger explosion, 1986. Our teacher wanted us to watch it so she found a tv and brought it in the class. I was 11.

Just gave mine, which I used every other weekend in the summer, to my son for his first house.
They work very well. You have to discipline yourself to work them in both directions so that your body gets an even workout!

I remember the day it happened. My mother had sent me across the street to borrow some sugar from the neighbor. The neighbor obviously had the TV on and was hysterical. Crying and screaming she sent me home immediately, very sad day.

I saw the very first shuttle launch live in real life. Was supposed to launch on a Friday, but delayed until Sunday. Me and a buddy at work decided spur of the moment that we were going. After work we quickly packed stuff into my 1982 Mazda RX7 and drove all night. Got a motel room in Orlando, took showers, and went to Disney World on Saturday. Got up early and drove to see the launch (from as close as we could get) on Sunday morning. After the launch we drove home... I had a battery TV and from time to time we were in range of a TV station where we could watch coverage in the car. My buddy went to work on Monday, but I crashed.
After that, I watched EVERY shuttle launch live on TV.... UNTIL the Challenger launch. I had to go in to the office for a while that morning. The launch happened while I was driving back home from the office. When I got home the country was in a different place.
