Still have the state ABC stores for the hard stuff, but wine is there too. Not too dissimilar to VA to be honest except for they have wine in grocery stores.

I don't mind it too bad, but def is nice when I got back and visit Washington and you can get whatever you want at the grocery store like a dang grown up.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I seldom was allowed to use the Phone so I really don`t remember i am sure it happened.

Then a telephone was considered a luxury just like indoor plumbing..

The 60 amp electric service was in the milk house 40amps to the barn 20 amps to the house.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
We had archery class in the wrestling room. They were the cheapest non-lethal bows you could buy.

My grandfather would always buy them for us at the corner grocery about a block from their house in Mid-city New Orleans. My grandfather smoked cigarettes that advertised "LSMFT"... remember that?

    And holidays...

While you could get beer in most groceries, I think it was limited to 3.2 beer. Not sure if the limits have been lifted..
Everything was available in the State Store...

Funny thing, when I was in SLC skiing last winter, the state stores were closed for two days (Sunday, President's Day), and when I went on Tuesday, the line outside the door to get in was as if concert tickets were on sale at Ticketmaster...

My farmhouse had 60 Amp service when I bought it... Fuses and all. One circuit for the barn. One circuit for the boiler, and the two remaining circuits for everything else.
When you started the toaster, the lights dimmed 20%.

That was the first thing I took care of...

One wonders how we survived. But I guess at the time all you really needed was lights and some small appliances.

    Remember these super safe suckers???

I distinctly remember being given one from a Seattle Police officer after, as a 2yo, walking in the snow to Fred Meyers for a $3 dump truck and only having $.50.
Store called police, police picked me up, drove me around until panicked parent (that was taking a nap with an unlocked front door) found police car and me.
Of course, I was sitting in the front seat of the police car, in the lap of the police man, without a seat belt and enjoying that pallet piercing Astro Pop...

Believe it or not, I just saw these at the store, but they're labeled a candy sticks. The box is definitely a cigarette looking box.

Frozen Margaritas. You'd buy a bucket and in it would be a bag of the mix. You cut the bag open, dump it in the bucket, add your favorite fermented cactus juice, and stick it in the freezer. I think Sauze made them.

I never cared for them I thought they tasted really bad.

No role models I wanted to be like. I was loyal to Hershey products made up the road. It smelled so Good driving past.

My elementary school had ropes and ladders in the gym. One rope ladder, one beaded rope, and one naked rope. These went up to the ceiling. I think the gym teacher put two mattresses under the ropes and we had to climb.

I am sure that they are gone. No way are they insurable nowadays.
