I’m still healing from the trauma.

I’m little, at 5…..I was itty bitty. I was in kindergarten and we were coloring. I couldn’t really see my paper well while I was sitting at the table so I stood up to color. She picked me up with one arm and whacked me in my belly with her other man hand…. Knocking the wind out of me. Then to top it off slammed me back into my seat.

    See…… innocent!!

My mother was Catholic before she met my dad. When they got married she converted to Lutheran, like he was. Most of the other neighborhood kids were Catholic and went to Catholic schools. I heard all the stories of the nuns and the brothers, but I often thought they were making shit up and exaggerating. Now I realize that what I heard was true...

Sister married into the Jewish faith. my parents were at odds with that. But they respected her decision.

The nuns told my mom they did not want me back for sixth grade, mom said good we can't afford catholic school.
Enrolled me in public school for sixth grade and almost got held back because of what the nuns were teaching.
