    I was raised as a Southern Baptist, but my dad’s family were all Irish Catholics so we had the Catholic school option.
    Well, that didn’t last very long.

    After going to the Baptist church, the Catholic Church was very intimidating in every aspect. Imposing and impersonal. Very Professional.

    A lot of my friends went to Catholic school. The Catholics were into corporal punishment. The Baptist were into guilty mind games. Both wanted you to subscribe and pay. They had a plan . . .

    Ultimately, their common goal was the same, but they had a totally different toolbox each case.

    I don’t know if there was any hanky-panky going on because I never saw any of that myself. That was something that only happened on television.

    Saw the original movie The Blob with Steven McQueen, last night.
    He is actually listed as Steven, not Steve.
    First time I saw it was 1959. Scared the crap outta me then.
    Last night I was laughing at the corniness of it so hard I almost crapped again.
    Wonder if this is how crappy movies get their label?

    Also didn't know that Andy Griffith's girl was Steven's girl...

    Before widespread plastics, those little ice creams came in a corrugated paper cup kind, of like a cupcake but fatter. The school bought them in bulk containers and they did not have individual lids.

    Five cents at elementary school, after lunch, and you got the little wooden spoon (which made terrific helicopters with a rubber band.)

    We called it Chicken Feed, but I didn't know how widespread that was. This morning on Fox News they were talking about it and asking the question, so I guess that calling it "Chicken Feed" wasn't just a New Orleans thing . . .
