Mine wouldn't spin after the wash cycle last year. I know nothing about working on them old or new. Ultimately I found a Youtube video which showed how to get the machine into diag mode and get a code to look up (if anyone remembers the old GM cars before OBD, something like that). Spent some time but was a $30 part that took 10 min to change so at least that was good.

My old one was at least 33. The serial number was so old best I could get was it's either 20, 33, or 43 yrs old. I knew it wasn't 20 as it belonged to my inlaws when they lived here and I've been here 19 years.

    My washer/dryer are at least 20yr old - Kenmore's
I love how simple they are
I can diagnose them with a multi/meter and most of the parts are pretty cheap

Had to replace the gas valve solenoids the other week cause it was spinning but not getting hot - all in all a simple job and 15$ in parts..

Remember when cigarettes were 32 cents a pack at a vending machine, and they taped your change to the side of the pack-.03 cents. I used to buy them for my sister at the motel down the block and get to keep the change.:bananadance:

My washing machine it a top-loader with a simple barrel timer... Turn clockwise to "normal" and pull the handle.

Gotta be 25 years old, if not more.. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

When I started smoking, they were $1.25 or $1.50. I told myself I'd quit when they got to $2. You know how that went... Well, when the NYC tax on them made a pack cost $11 or something (from like, $3), I quit cold turkey. Three days of headaches but that was it. Been 20+ years now.

Still have and love my zippos, though..
