Penny candy was mentioned in another thread.
There was a Ben Franklin 5-10 in our neighborhood. They had a whole shelf of individual candy for .01, .05, .10. You could grab a little paper sack and get yourself 50 tootsie rolls for 50 cents. If you wanted.
Who knows. Maybe you wanted some Bazooka gum or some lemon heads.
    Sky's the limit.....you had 50 cents.

I forgot that I had this. This is the original ac/dc cassette recorder for a RadioShack TRS-80.

This belong to my father but he never owned a RadioShack machine. He had it on an IBM PC-AT, and I still have it too.

It was originally a 64K machine but he upgraded it to 640 K of main memory.

That's what I used to store the BASIC code I wrote on my TI-99/4A when I was in middle school. I wanted the 32k RAM upgrade soooooo bad, but it was ridiculously expensive. At that time 32k of ram was more than you'd ever need in your lifetime!

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I remember living along one of the local LVI flight paths the sounds of the approaching planes after years just become back ground noise .

Now that I seldom hear any over head planes when I do get one it sticks out.

…when companies actually made good, quality products, stood behind their work, and cared about the consumer? — and not only cared about money?

Must be after my time I have no idea.

I never watched much Television till I was camped out in motels .

I saw the first 15 minutes of many movies before I feel asleep.
