I remember riding my bike to the gas station to buy smokes for my mother. I was probably around 7-10 yrs old.
She would send me and my brother with an empty pack to show the cashier.
This would've been around the time when soda was sold in returnable bottles......and time of console t.v's

I'm 76yo, was with the same company 43 years, and have been retired 10 years! I remember when the company got their first internet connection and the speed was "14 mbps". When it went to 27 mbps we thought, WOW this is great. Times have changed.

I can’t imagine an office working without email… but then again maybe it was a better option than what we have today. Let me “cc” 10 more people onto this email…

The last place I worked was dragged screaming into the email internet age.

I think they might have been the last to still use fax machines and phone calls.

It was 2016 when we started using email then since we had our on cell phones why would we need company phones.

Some people made so many Errors of a major kind the having a paper trail put the fear of the Gods into them.

No. This computer had a 5.25 floppy.
It must’ve been something more advanced.

I think the TRS80 was first sold with tape drive but in time you could upgrade to the floppy drive.

My very first computer was something very similar to this. Connected to the TV via composite cable. I had none of the accessories to go with it. I guess without any software, it defaults to a BASIC like programmer?

Just the normal life of a kid . I will say I hated the cigarette smoke so avoided that as often as possible.

Then some of us that grew up on Farms added some different adventures .

    Never give that a thought!

I was thinking of the Jousting with Big Sticks !

Dragging the red wagons around with the horse.

I would vanish for days at a time either on foot with the Dog or on horse back before I could drive.

I remember thinking I would ride my bicycle from our trailer just outside Luke AFB, to my school in Litchfield Park, across the desert back roads. The bus took me there for fourth grade, down the highway, but the desert road saved 3 miles each way.

Being lumpy dirt and gravel, it was slower going, but there was no traffic. It seemed like an easy 5 miles.

I started out on several Saturdays, only to get distracted by some kid trap.

New junk to steal, dumped in the desert by the air force, insulation boards and a tortoise I had to take home. I shot a big snake with my pellet gun. I shot a big toad that just wouldn’t die. There was an old abandoned turkey plant, dry culverts, and random things to be dragged home for our tree house by the creek.

Somehow, I never made it all the way, except on a school bus.
