Reminds me of my beloved die cast Corgi Major Mack Truck when I was a kid in the 70’s. Loved that thing. Most favourite toy. Was able to purchase one off of eBay 15 years ago. Still have it.

My first job out of college I had a company car (a new Chevy Impala gas hog). At that time many gas stations offered 10 times S&H or Blue Chip stamps. I use to put between 800 to 1200+ miles a week on it plus I used it for personal use (the company was generous) I filled the tank 4 or 5 times a week at company expense and collected 10x S&H stamps or Blue Chip stamps each time. I had grocery bags full of stamp books. I furnished my first apartment redeeming the stamps. Everything from kitchen pots and pans , dishes, vacuum cleaner, nice lamps, and on and on. Got a coffee table, 2 end tables and a bunch I don’t remember. I also got tools and various other things. Even some camping equipment. Quit that job after a year but thanks to that company and the stamps my apartment was beautiful. The stamps were green and I believe they were called S&H Green stamps. All these years later I still have some of the things I got with those stamps including a set of open end wrenches.

I recently had to replace the belts on my Sony TC-WE475... A great machine with those wonderful VFD's...
My Onkyo TX-27 isn't as busy.
My Dual 1225 doesn't have a display at all...

I just realized that I started working on real cars and bicycles at an early age, and I never really had toy cars. I had a Tonka dump truck, a Cox slot car, a Cox .049 dune buggy, a pinewood derby car . . . but that was it.

I had an electric train, but not much track. I was really into building model airplanes, from balsa, since 10 years old. I had a lot of model airplanes, but only 3 with engines.

I still have a few little toy cars given me by others though.

Edit,… I forgot about building the Wacky Woody model and the Fury III model, back in 1965. Those things never really meant much to me, and I didn’t keep them around long. Being with the Air Force, we moved a lot, and there were a lot of things that I didn’t keep long.

I only remember seeing The Aardvark and the Ant one time, at a drive-in movie theater out by Glendale Arizona.

I don’t recall which movie, but I think it was some Disney movie about a cat that has nine lives and goes to cat heaven.

My little sister loved that movie, but I can’t for the life of me recall the name of it.

Orange is good, it matches my cats. And definitely, I thought about getting the digital dash for my 84 Camaro back then. Always was a sucker for the KITT car

Pioneer is a longtime favorite, still have my receiver and 101 CD player
