How about this. Use to wait for Mom to come back from Christmas shopping in the back of this without seatbelts.

The back window would crank down from the inside and that's where we rode most of the time.

I remember going to the grocery store about a block from our house (late ‘70s) and buying my mom a carton for $5. The neighbor kid would just shoplift them for me sometimes and we would split the $5. A couple of bucks went a long way when we were kids.

I remember at EAFB in SD, a snow storm with enough white stuff that we had to crawl out of the second floor window to get out of the house. (Base officer housing.) We stayed home that day and played, but went to school the next day. No crisis.

There used to be quite a few A&P's (three I can remember distinctively) in the town I grew up in. Back then, they were more like grocery stores than supermarkets. They were smaller. As time went on, people began to gravitate to the larger, newer, supermakets, and many of the old-school A&Ps - which had this unique roof fascia - closed or were expanded.

The last A&P was turned into a Waldbaum's, and was eventually sold to an independent grocer.

Ours had that fancy paneling down the side. I remember sitting in the rear facing back seat signaling all semi trucks to blow their horn as we passed by.

Tea. Not Coffee.... although I think that the brand "Eight o'clock Coffee" was a store brand, along with the "Ann Page" line...
