Nothing sucked more than getting hit in the face with a wet dodgeball on a cold day on the playground lol

I can feel the pattern on my face and smell the ball in my mind

We always played it inside, so that we wouldn't lose all the balls over the fences!

    Ahh, jr high gym class.
That was when the President's fitness class was shoved up our bums. You had to pass or be killed trying.
    Now here's the real banger...
The boys gym teacher was banging the girls gym teacher.
For real...and I think both got canned for getting caught in the locker room. Gross! Oh dude...bang her in the john stall ..there's real class..
And his name was Mr Breed...no foolin!
Remember Robert Conrad aka James West of the Wild Wild West.?
Our gym teacher was a carbon copy andacted like him too.
    Guy was a douch.

I remember when gas broke a dollar a gallon...I thought my dad was going to have a stroke.
He came home so bent out of shape. Boy was he pissed.

I remember that too. I remember a high gas price being $1.29. Around the same time cigs were hitting $1.50 and smokers were freaking out too.

No idea what cigs cost. Never desired to be that kool.

But I do remember dad giving me a $20 and I would drive to the little family owned grocery store, getting a loaf of bread, a carton of cigs and filling up the 73 bug and still have paper change...of which dad demanded back..I was 18.

    Oh man....that cherry red bug...what a hoot.
My best bud and I would take that beetle to get pizza and root beer on Saturday night.
A large delux pizza was $2.25 and with hot pizzas in lap we'd pull into the root beer stand, A&W and each get 2 large root beers.
We sat there and downed it all. And if one of the car hops wanted a slice, a date was required...we never scored...all good.

Buddy's brother had a green Cuda, we never scored with that car either.

We had an A&W in my hometown. Walk up window and in car service. I do remember those mugs of root beer, sweating in the summer heat.

My first Little League team was sponsored by this A&W. So we would get a free cone or a hot dog IIRC after each game. We were in 7th heaven.

Then like many A&Ws the building got sold over and over again, going from a Mexican place to a pizza stand or whatever.

I think the building is still there. I was in Little League in 1984/85.

When I was about 12yo, we lived just a couple miles from Jacksonville Beach in Florida. There was an A&W between home and the beach. My buds and I would bicycle out to the beach, and on the way home, we'd stop for frosty mugs of root beer. And they cost only 5 cents back then. (I know, my age is showing.)

I worked at an A&W as a teenager. Didn't have a clue how to cook. Customers would send my raw burgers back all the time. Go figure.

That's awesome, I spend a fair amount of time in Jax Beach, I know the area well and all the roads that lead to the beachfront. Good people down there.
