I remember when a buck would get me a gallon of gas and still have a dime or two left over.

Still used and bought new in my area. Restaurants use them to retain card info when the credit card devices are down. Lovingly referred to as knuckle busters.

Remember when the President was on TV, being so few channels there wasn't anything to watch, especially broadcasting on those prime time TV hours.

Remember when we used to listen to music using freaking LASER's, like from outer space! And when we all finally got to have one the dang thing skipped! Then you went and bought some sort of shock proof version where the laser went over the shiny thing like 36000x and it would skip less, but you didn't have to fast forward through a song like a jerk 10 years prior. Oh and thats somehow junk now, Oh and it was yesterday....

If I still had the VIN number for my '98, I would search the country for it and buy it back.

I gave mine to my son, he wrecked it last year with 250,000 miles on the original clutch. I sold it to my friend who got it running again.

Anybody remember when the manual transmission was referred to as the "standard transmission"?

You know, because every vehicle had it and the automatic transmission was an option...
