I'm installing a remote coupler from my on board air compressor to my back bumper. The compressor has a 1/4 NPT threaded port for the air line to come out. Will this require the use of a 1/4" ID hose to provide the best performance from the compressor? Or is it recommended to go with a larger ID hose size?

If anyone has photos of their remote coupler install, that would be appreciated too.

You are fine keeping with the 1/4". You compressor does not supply enough cfm for there would be noticable difference.

Really is no benefit to going up a size with this unit. 1/4" is a very common pipe size, the next size bigger is 3/8. Lots of hardware suppliers don't stock 3/8" because it's used so rare.

1/4” ID hose is fine, you're not restricting anything, and it’ll be more flexible and lighter. You could even run a 3/8” OD nylon tubing.

As others have stated, you really don’t need a larger line. With that being said, a larger line will increase The capacity in your system a small amount.
