Remote Not(stopped) Working

    I got this Tacoma with the remote not working. The previous owner said that it just stopped working one day. I've replaced the battery and tried the reprograming steps (opening and closing the door). It didn't solve the issue. Anyone have any other ideas for me to try?

    Buy a new remote. Maybe the old one is actually broken.

    I had one that broke after about 7 years of use. I had to push the buttons really really hard until it eventually just stopped working.

    Just get a new one.

    Try pushing really hard. The wire contacts are probably just worn from lots of use.
