I just purchased my 2022 Tacoma. The dealership is now telling me I need to pay to use my key fob for remote start. I don't want to use any app. Help? Is this true? Thank you

Toyota connect. Its a website or a phone number. Some have found a way around it I think.

Pretty soon they'll make you pay every time you crank it regardless.
Then you'll have to watch a video on the display with a [skip] option after 2 minutes or [skip] for all of it for $1.00.

    Want heat?.... 25 cents.
    Need A/C?..... 35 cents.
    Windshield wipers?.... 10 cents.

So, the dealership did not download the app for you?

Oh, you bought your 2022 used.

    Try this method first:

If it doesn't work, you can download the app and not pay...just allow the app to use your driving habits.

Or you can call Toyota. A guy at work just called and complained and they said it should work for 10 years and they re-renabled it for him.
