Remote Start and Climate Control

So I just found out that you can remote start your Tacoma using the keyfob, on top of the Toyota app.

In preparation for the 100-degree weather here in SoCal, is it possible to turn on the a/c as well when remote starting the vehicle?

I'm assuming that when you turn off the engine, you have to have the a/c on AUTO with your preferred temperature, correct?

 

Part of the reason I’m waiting for ev trucks is the fact you don’t need to have the motor running /getting hot + building up fumes just to run the AC (or even heater in winter ) while you are waiting. You can even set the temp setting from your phone before getting in. Also if your dogs are in the truck just leave it in “dog mode” so you can leave them inside and not kill them lol.

 

My truck comes back to whatever setting it was on when turned off. In the winter I set it for high temp defrost at max speed.

 

I don't have auto AC but yes, the AC stays on high when I remote start it.
