    Hey Guys,

I know this can be done and need some help figuring it out.

Here is what I know...our keys use a proximity sensor to the ignition module. When the key is close enough and the sensor is the correct one...the truck starts. Without that sensor it won't. Id like to be able to use plain ole keys in mine and avoid the keyless entry all together.

In the past id simply glue my spare key under the clamshell and use reg keys but that's not working on the taco. Any ideas?

If you are talking about the Key Fob you can disable the communication by HOLDING the LOCK button on the key fob and pressing UNLOCK TWICE. To enable the communication again you can press the lock or unlock button.
