Clifford and Viper are DEI companies, same as makes the DBALL2. All those are doing is adding a second long range remote.

They do, sort of. They use the DBALL2 module since the third gen PTS Tacomas are remote start ready. Same as used by me and others and is what KBVD offers.

Remember Viper is a brand of DEI.

The shut off is a Toyota thing. Nobody's solved it for PTS third gens.

Part number please. I've seen Tundra and Camry(Corolla?) units installed but never any indication of how wiring was done; the instructions for those parts didn't seem applicable and it also looked like registration via techstream was required.

My dealer in September couldn't offer a solution and I was standing there with money in hand.

BTW what is the "Platinum" trim level?

Do note that you could spend $10k on a remote start kit and it's still going to turn off when you open the door on push-to-start tacomas. If you have a 6-speed or a lower trim that has a keyed ignition, then it will work as you're accustomed to but you'll need something other than a dball (i.e. Fortin Evo-one). As for range, add a Smart Start and you could restart it from across the ocean if you wanted. @gpb has a thread on the set up and install for both.
